I think I will join you in Dry January. DD1 has been watching a lot of Horrible Histories and I'm watching their harsh depiction of Henry VIII and his massive appetite for food and wine and thinking "amateur"8 -
Thanks everyone. I collected his ashes yesterday and howled like a banshee all the way home.
I had to fetch DD2 from the 'rents house (long story) and I think when they saw the state of me they got it much more.
Yes they did see a lot of him and he and they relied on each other for some things so they are grieving too.

Big hugs. But I have no doubt the howling will help. Keep doing it as long as you need.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Howling is good. There will be more of it.
I left the ashes of an ex partner in a cupboard for years. Moved house with them too. Never told Mr Watty what was in the box. Finally scattered them when we bought the cottage we have now. Took me years to part with them. Ashes, So final.
sending huge loveMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!8 -

Haha scientologist!
Well I have booked a holiday for me, two youngest DC and the 'rents in July. We'll they have booked it and I've agreed to it.
I may regret it but it is something to look forward to.
Today I'm going to repaint part off DS's bedroom today before his new bed goes in.
Anything else is a bonus today but if possible I would like to also apply for DD2's sixth form boarding. Long story, we're not rich, state school.
