I'm so sorry to hear this, Alchemilla, this is dreadful news.  I'm not surprised the future looks terrifying without your beloved OH.  It's just awful that you're going through this.

So sorry Alchemilla. Look after yourself and the family, and deal with it however works for you all. There is no right way to grieve except how you want to. And be realistic about how much you can cope with over the next few months - ask for help if you need it.
