I just told DS1 and he just said to tell her "welcome to the club, it's a cool one."
I tried explaining she's a bit older and it might not mean the same thing to her, he just smiled and said "she'll get there."

Well, Greta Thunberg calls it her "superpower", so there are positive ways forward, for sure.twinklie said:I just told DS1 and he just said to tell her "welcome to the club, it's a cool one."

Alchemilla, I hope all this clearing of decks is going well, collecting the aga seems to be a real pain.2023: the year I get to buy a car5 -

I love him for that, and you for making him feel that way. She's not surprised and I think it's a relief for her.twinklie said:I just told DS1 and he just said to tell her "welcome to the club, it's a cool one."

I am just lucky the seller is being super kind about it. I hope tomorrow will be third time lucky.Karmacat said:

Chap came this evening who is installing it. He's the same enthusiast in the flesh as the one I've been messaging. What DR calls having "the heart of a teacher" basically an aga geek (meaning geek as a compliment).
Quite pleased with what I and DH achieved today. DH didn't go for an afternoon nap and should have, he was done for by 5pm.9 -

Thanks SH. She's not so great today, a full day of assessments ahead.
The haulage company are turning the aga dream into a nightmare. They honestly shouldn't be in business.
Today, collect prescriptions, help Pa remove kitchen cupboards, tea and cake with a dear friend, collapse!
All whilst wondering if the flipping aga will get collected.7 -
Sorry she's struggling with it. I gave my DD a mug that said 'I am so many things' on it - and then listed loads inside including that 'I am God's masterpiece'. Perhaps you could do something similar - and remind of all the things she is besides the label. My ASD has given me phenomenal memory, I'm super creative, I am in a professional, managerial role... etc Don't let her believe the lies about poor employment prospects. With girls in particular being historically under-diagnosed - they have very little data on how women with ASD do. I know loads of people at my level who I would regard as having undiagnosed ASD. I went to uni and got a degree and a post grad... I 'feel the fear & do it anyway'. My DD chose an engineering apprenticeship route. If she completes it - in 5 years she will out earn me... Her employers are very supportive.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030
