@redofromstart I'm the only person who THINKS to stack logs properly here.
Spent £££ on a new turnout rug for Bigorse who has DESTROYED her current one. Something to do while she's not breaking fences I suppose.
Woke on the sofa at 1 am. Oops!
Visiting today and I need to park DS somewhere. Also stack logs, do DS's washing and other chores.
@Karmacat that is encouraging. Although I'm sciency I wouldn't feel confident about anything medical, but I guess we'll get what we get.

Indeed, I'm not medical at all either; but I do remember she didn't discharge herself, and was nursed at home officially, plus personal care by friends. Nursing at home, via district nurses I suppose, might be difficult these days, but releasing a bed might swing it for you. Take care of yourself too, though, and enjoy visiting day!2023: the year I get to buy a car5

A friend of my had a mastectomy as part of her treatment for breast cancer and was discharged whilst she still had a chest drain in. She was given a little cross body style bag to carry to collection bag in
My limited understanding of such matters is that so long as his pain levels are under control, he is eating, drinking and excreting well and the wound is draining well with no sign of infection there is hope of him being discharged.know thyselfNid wy'n gofyn bywyd moethus...6 -
Log stacking must be fantastic free exercise
I would have loved a log burner when we moved in here, but the living room really isn't big enough to justify it and we've boarded up the fireplace now. Maybe when we're old and shivery

When you're old and shivery, Ed, you won't want to be dealing with logs! They warm you several time though - I have to split all mine, then stack them to dry, then restack as I use stuff up and move it from left to right in the giant log store (which is gradually reducing - I started with 6 bays and logs piled all over the place, and am now down to 4, hoping to reduce to 3 after I've dried out and cut up the bits of fence panel for the kindling bin). As the log stores are made of old pallets roofed with OSB and roofing felt, most of them also ends up being burned, but they need sawing up.
I've had a coal fire today, and had forgotten how nice it was to have a steady burn that keeps going overnight (this stove is definitely better with solid fuel than wood, but wood is free).6 -
I'd not be without out log burner now, we had an open fire at our old house and it was pretty to look at but ineffective at heating. We'll burn anything we can get our hands on, we bought a couple of tons of logs 18 months ago and I've been splitting them as we need them but since then we've had trees blow down and some we've had to cut down so the log pile for seasoning is huge, at a guess we've got 4 tons of it all....all at the wrong end of the garden too. There's something really satisfying about cutting, chopping, splitting and stacking it all.
