Cleared a plant of Heavenly Bamboo (which definitely wasn’t!) from under the pergola a couple of days ago and replanted the area this morning with a salvia, some nicotiana, a gorgeous, golden, citrus-smelling thyme and nasturtiums - they should all do quite well in the direct sun and fierce drainage in this area.

Picked £3.87 of organic (delicious!) strawberries from the veggie patch yesterday and had some after lunch today. I will take some in for breakfast tomorrow too. That takes my total value for the year of produce cropped to £34.44 - this is a bit feeble for half way through the year, but we are not half way through the growing season yet so hopefully this will increase significantly. I have a quiet dream of …. <whisper> of reaching £100 worth this year <whisper>. The way food / produce prices are going, this hopefully won’t be too unrealistic.

I have degunked (ugh ….) the cat’s rear end. I hoped that would make her less smelly, but it doesn’t seem to have had much effect. I might have to take a damp cloth to her!! 😳🙄😂

I should be tidying the office but I am sat here noodling about, being unproductive ….

your strawberries are way ahead of mine, the polytunnel ones are still green. We've had some lovely and sweet early peas in the pod and a few radishes so far. I've planted out the cucumbers and peppers in the tunnel, and courgettes in the garden this week, and added some more £4 supermarket Acers to the patio pot collection.

I think ours must be an early variety. That said, the veggie patch where they are is the warmest, most sheltered part of the garden so that probably helps too. No peas yet, about to plant out a couple of courgettes at the end of the week when it gets that bit warmer.
