Got incredibly hot this morning, whilst watering some key areas, plantings and pots, but well worth doing. Still waiting for the promised downpour …. 💧⛈️🌧️

Went to Mr KK’s work ‘family fun day’ in the Jeep at lunchtime today. But not only did the weather rain on us (only enough to make us miserably chilly), the Jeep 'failed to proceed ' (after a whole week of driving around Normandy without any issues at all!). Had to be towed home by a colleague using the boss's old style Land Rover, with Mr KK muttering about ‘the shame of it’ the whole way .... 😉🤣 After furtling about in obscure corners under the bonnet all afternoon, with me occasionally helping to press the start button or look for a spark etc., he traced the fault to a worn condenser and once that was changed she roared back into life again 😊 He’s now talking about replacing the whole ignition system with a more modern design (solid state) rather than the hybrid muddle of old and new type design he has atm.

I have at least managed to get the loo and bathroom cleaned, which are my worst jobs 🙂 Went round all my house plants and dead-headed and dead-leaved them all, so they are looking fresher too. Emptied another shelf in the big bookcase ready for the room swop round. Strawberries from the garden prepped for dessert and Mr KK is cooking dinner. Lunch, breakfast and snacks for tomorrow are done! 😊 All I have left to do tonight is another bookcase shelf and a shower 😊

Well we don’t have younglings to feed, wash, play with and bedtime 😉😊❤️ I suspect that helps a lot!

Eek! At least it happened here and not in Normandy! Although sort of hilarious that the picture ended up looking like a cheeky below the belt ad for Land Rovers....

Sounds like a very productive day - we're still waiting for a promised downpour here - it looks very threatening but I am meant to be watering the neighbour's garden while they're away and it hasn't happened yet...

No rain here yet either. We were visiting friends early, there were a few instances of rumbling thunder and we noticed a few big rain drop splodges on the patio but none of us felt a drop.

MOT happened today - came in at £276.30 which is way better than it might have been and means it won’t take me long to top up the YNAB pot for car spends again 😊

£5.13 sent to OP this evening from slow uptick on QM33 over the last week or three.

Lounge is turned around and feels huge! 😊 Mr KK has been working really hard in this over the last couple of days - don’t really feel like I am pulling my weight on this project as I have been late home from work the last two nights (today I had a flat battery on the courtesy car - left the lights on 🙄 so had to wait to be rescued by the big yellow van). We have one bookcase to relocate to make space for the fireplace so maybe I can put my mind on that ….

Did some financial updates / catching up after my shower (couldn’t take any more of the IoM TT recordings Mr KK is catching up on) and discovered that the nice building society had sent us two lots of £100 Fairshare payments! Colour me amazed!! One got swept off to joint savings (just tipped over £1K now) and then sent the other straight off to an OP ❤️ Whoop! 😊

I did manage to find a location for the final bookcase that needed shifting from the living room to make space for fireplace building - Mr KK impressed 😊 We emptied and moved it whilst our respective brews were cooling down when I got home this evening. I have also almost reloaded my big bookcase - lovely finding things I had forgotten about and where it is now is much more accessible 😊

New drawings for the new fireplace / hearth / wood burning stove structure are being created, through deep cogitations on the far end of the sofa … ❤️
