Yum! We’re on about 10 a day and that’s just about enough for breakfasts.

Interesting conversation about mortgage and interest rates coming up. It’s had me reconsidering yet again, whether our current approach is the right one 😖

I managed to hull, chop and divvy up all the strawberries between desserts for tonight and the freezer whilst Mr KK was cooking dinner (hero!). Including the small batch that Mr KK took over to his parents this afternoon that was 2.049Kg of strawberries which equates to £20.49. My produce tracker is flying! 😊

We really have too many! It’s because I was overwhelmed by the garden last year and the strawberries threw out runners EVERYWHERE and I am too soft to pull them all up! 😉😂 But it does show what will grow well here 😊

I’m not sure that there is a ‘right approach’ to the mortgage question(s) atm, more a case of what is the least worst …. Having run our numbers this afternoon, seen how much just an 8% deal will cost us (I looked at 10% and flinched! 😳😢) and how much OP I would have to find very single month between now and next year to get to a mortgage outstanding that we could afford to service once we come out of our fixed rate deal, I am trying not to gibber ….

While it's not a terrible idea to plan for a worst case scenario, try and remember it is a worst case scenario and it may well not be as bad as you're planning for! All you can do is what you can do, because nothing any of us do can affect the mortgage rates.

That is a tasty haul of strawbs!

Interesting to read your mortgage pondering, thank you. We're in a not too dissimilar situation. We're currently on 2.26%, fix ends Oct 2024, so we'll do as you plan to and start looking in May.

I've not done any projections at all yet, but it looks like I really should 🙄 Ours will be down to about £161k by May, and we've not been overpaying at all since I went down to four days a week at work 🙄 Hoping I don't have to go back to full time (partly because I don't think I'll be able to in current job, but mostly because I don't want to) but it might require a fair bit of messing about otherwise.

    At any rate, projections aren't a job for 11.30pm I don't think! 🙄

    Impressed with your garden hauls!
