The last time I did a personality test for work it was based on the seasons.  I think I was autumn. Another reason to enjoy being retired   :)

Ooh, good work! I am terrible for growing and not harvesting too 🙄 No idea why! But I shall endeavour to follow your good example 😁
Seriously?! Not just me?! Wow … I had no idea ….
Hate to admit it but also me. I always fail to remember lettuces and radishes, which bolt before I do anything.

Well the personality bit wasn’t too grim. I was mildly surprised by my feedback - I thought I would be more on the green (caring) side but little of that from others, but lots of blue for analysis, data driven etc.

Meal this evening was quite fun though my main course was dire - a whole half cauliflower, barely cooked and kind of seared and spiced just on the cut face. The whole team were trying not to laugh at it 😉 The starter was okay and the dessert was good - not bad for a vegan meal! 😂 Just glad I wasn’t paying for it 😉

Cooking tomorrow has been postponed due to a double booking thang …. My boss looked mortified when he realised I had brought my own ingredients 😉🤷‍♀️ Ah well, at least I showed commitment to his plans 😊

I asked for a quiet room so I am in a room miles from the bar, overlooking the garden. The bed is comfy and I am hoping that I will sleep well tonight.

The week continued as crazy hectic but I survived! 😉😊 Had a good run of NSDs this week, even with our monthly takeaway tonight as that came from personal spending money 😊

Haircut tomorrow in south wales (thank goodness - I feel like a sheep!) and I am going early so I can do a recce at a H3ron shop that I have found down there. I already had a list of things that could be worth bulk buying and their prices (created in March so already a bit dated 😳🙄 - but still indicative I hope!) and I will see what is worth bulk buying there.

The forecast is pretty naff this weekend so I foresee seed sorting and sowing, potting up tomatoes (they are getting huuuuge!), reading, knitting and maybe even some day dreaming …. That latter is allowed, yes ….? 😉😊🤔

Just caught up on your diary, life seems very busy your end. Loving your new focus on bulk buy prices - the main thing I buy in bulk is coffee as I only  like decent stuff and if I run out of it I go to the shops more frequently..

The leeks sound lovely - I love a leek - and a home grown one is extra lovely.

Tempeh does taste disgusting - I love edamame beans and tofu is bearable (if you cover it in loads of sauce etc) but tempeh .. no no never!

I avoid personality tests - they dont need to know how crazy I can be ;)
    DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff.    Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Could have sworn I posted a reply about the personality test …. But it has evaporated! Ah well …

Had a productive day though the H3ron trip was a bust - small shop, not much range and very, very, little vegan stuff. I used the time I had set aside for this ‘expotition ‘ to pick up some missing stuff in Sainsbugs - got £10 off there thanks to N3ctar points, refuel the car (11p a litre cheaper there than over the border where I am! 😳) and then went for my hair cut. I’m all shaggy and undercut again - feels so much better 😊

Had a good session in the garden this afternoon - got all my ornamental border lawn edgings mowed and trimmed for the second time this year and that led into a hands and knees inspection / weeding session. Mr KK did all the rest of the mowing in between spray painting old new stock (so more authentic to the period of the vehicle) wings for his Jeep.

Mr KK did a batch of his bolognese for the freezer, so I got one of mine out of the freezer and we had our respective versions with a baked potato for dinner 😊 One of my favourites!

Did all the YNAB shuffles and £cial updates this evening. All very stable, nothing of any great significance to report but my savings are ticking up nicely. I have worked out that we are now paying £438 less interest pa on the mortgage than when we first moved in - not a big reduction yet, but it’s starting to move …. Looking forward to seeing what payday brings next Tuesday …. It *should* include an 11% payrise and a bonus with a further £1K (all less tax) on top …. I am anticipating divvying up the (hopefully!) unusual excess …. I will probably split it along the lines of 25% treat fund, 50% savings and 25% OP.

Mr KK and I had a conversation about the BG boiler insurance that I took out when we first moved in here 3.5 years ago - I set it up because we had no savings at that point and it was less than £5 pcm. It is now nearly £11 pcm and we have savings now that would cover the cost of a new boiler if we needed it, so I am quite inclined to cancel it now …. Mr KK thinks we should plan to replace our existing boiler this summer or next for something more energy efficient before we come off our fixed tariff for gas in September 2024. I think he is probably right but that will affect my ability to OP! Argh! 😉

Quiet day here. The weather was a bit erratic, started quite wet and kept showering on and off all day. Managed to do a bit of weeding in the garlic / shallots bed. Not as much as I hoped as I was called by a friend who is in a very non-positive relationship with someone who is battling a secondary cancer diagnosis - she’s feeling very trapped and needed to offload quite a bit.

Popped to scr3wfix this morning as the shower screen needed re-siliconing and Mr KK had left his application gun at work and we had no clear bathroom sealant. By the time I got back the bath was cleaned and dried and Mr KK finished the job in the morning, the silicone being pretty much dry by this evening. I have suggested that the new gun is put in our DIY shed so we always have one at home, but Mr KK seemed quite impressed by the spec of the one I bought this morning so I suspect we will end up with one of his old scraggy ones at home and the posh new one will end up in work! 🙄😉😂

Did three rows of my blanket knitting project this afternoon/evening. Started thinking about what to say when I speak at my uncle’s funeral next month.

Feeling amazingly tired this evening. Hope I’m not coming down with my boss's lurgy - he has been off last work for the first time since I have known him! Had hot and cold spells this morning too. Dosing myself with echinacea and vitamin C in an attempt to ward it off ….
