Poor loaf couldn't even cool down and was being devoured. Nothing like the smell of fresh baked bread though. Oh no has to be a simple recipe for me Kajikita - some of them are unnecessarily complex imo. My adapted bread recipe is written on a piece of paper kept with the yeast - I'm sure I'll use it again one day. South_coast I use my Kenwood, but occasionally I'd get engrossed in something and the rising would become a virtual explosion."Think of many things, do one"

KajiKita said:@SandyShores - the comment about your clothes objecting made me laugh! 😂😊 Me too!! A loaf of bread typically lasts me two to three weeks now, I’ve had to cut right back on it. When I was wee I pretty much lived on it 🤷♀️
Thanks for the pizza dough recipe link - the D3lia one was starting to segue into widdershins and complexity ….

I have a small but significant personal achievement to report!
I have harvested and consumed or processed to the freezer every leek I have produced this year!I know this doesn’t sound like much but ….
I have a bad habit of growing stuff and then not eating it - it drives Mr KK wild and I can’t explain it ….
On Saturday, I lifted, cleaned and bagged up all the remaining leeks in the garden as I think they were about to run up to flower. Yesterday I made a large batch of leek and spud soup - 5 portions in all, 4 remaining in the freezer, one as a 2 person portion for us to share and two single portions.
Tonight, I was like, I must consume leeks! As I was driving home I was thinking HM vegan ‘cheese’ sauce and leeks and ….? 🤔 Then I remembered that Mr KK had a remaining piece of gammon in the freezer. With some boiled spuds that were sculling around in the bottom of the fridge I made a convincing meal. Mr KK even enjoyed the ‘cheese’ and leek mix without adding Worcestershire sauce to it - I almost begged him to taste it first! The rest of the leeks are washed, chopped and bagged in portioned sizes in the freezer 😊
According to the weight of the leeks I lifted yesterday, that was about £12 worth of (organic) leeks I have processed at £5/Kg for 2.4Kg. 😊 My produce tracker has had rather a boost! 😉

Ooh yum and well done. Made me think of one of our fave recipes from HFW's veggie cookbook - which is a leek risotto. You'd just need to exchange the butter. We didn't ever add the chestnuts, but I'm sure we had chestnut mushrooms instead - I'd need to refer to my River Cottage book as its been a while. https://www.rivercottage.net/recipes/leek-risotto-with-chestnuts"Think of many things, do one"

But I shall endeavour to follow your good example 😁For me it seems to be about having already planned my next week’s meals and bought in what fresh food I need, I seem to then struggle to swop to what might / might not be available in the garden to use.Perhaps I need to try to ANTICIPATE better what might be ready ‘next week’ when I do my weekly food list? 🤔 We do this on a Friday evening now, ready for deliveries on Saturday so perhaps this could be a Friday wind-down activity, to see what’s about to ‘come on stream’ for eating?

Heading off for a ‘team building’ session for the next two days with the rest of the management team. Not looking forward to it, as are none of the rest of them. Still, all costs should be covered by the business so should be two NSDs. Colour based personality assessments, which I have done so many times before now.I should also come home having made vegan pasta from scratch for the first time. There is little or no accommodation being made for me being vegan on the cooking but, so I have my own instructions for the pasta thanks to @leftatthetrafficlights, HM cashew cream to use in the filling, thyme to go with the mushroom filling and roasted seeds and a shallot to go with my tomato salad instead of the mozzarella. We will see how it goes ….
