Gosh yes 'more'. In the occasional debt coaching courses I run, exploring this is key. For some, it's the first time they've ever realised that they have a value just as a human being and not as the 'owner' of stuff which often isn't even paid for. The best lightbulb moment is when people realise that they've spent money they haven't got, on things they don't need, all to impress people they don't even like. So grateful for everyone on here love Humdinger xx4

Love the winter post KK, I'm looking forward to a yoga and gong bath solstice day next month.

Love the winter posts.
I am struggling to work longer days now it is winter - due to the changing light - it's harder to get up - and there's a natural cue to our bodies to shut down work earlier - and yet modern life doesn't allow it. Or we don't... Definitely something to ponder.
On the PC I'd tell them under no circumstances to email work - it isn't appropriate - but your call. It will be over soon...
On the unrealistic expectations at work - I think that's everywhere - but yes totally frustrating. Glad you have a cat to cuddle and a garden to enjoy - with that lovely fire to help you nurture yourself.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

I follow that page on Facebook ❤️ thank you for sharing I haven't been on much this week so missed that one 🥰
I wish I could hibernate. I feel like I'd do well as one of those rich ladies from times past where they disappeared to a warmer climate for the winter months and returned in spring 🥰🤣.Emergency Fund- £717.772 -
I’m glad the winter post resonated with so many of you. I think we can be very hard on ourselves at this time of year and it’s worth reminding ourselves that our energy is MEANT to fall back somewhat and not judge ourselves for it … 😊 Chloe meanwhile is still full on winter grumpy! Cats can’t read can they …? 😉😂
I have managed to get stuck into a few things today 😊
All aluminium recycling removed from almost overflowing collection point in the kitchen, bagged up and ready to take to the tip.Prepped my passport renewal form - that job has been looking at me for two weeks! 😳Watered the greenhouse 😊
Almost dried Mr KK’s washing in the line - it’s just finishing off in the TD and I then will fold it all.
His bedding is just coming to the end of a five hour wash … 🙄 Then I can get the towels on.Spent an hour in the garden in the sunshiney bits of the garden:
- hacked back a purple berberis - it’s lovely but it’s casting shade and light is at such a premium here I have had to restrain it somewhat …
- moved my VSGF’s dahlias to the potting shed
- tied in a climber that has been struggling on for two years but seems to be finally getting going now … maybe …? 🤷♀️😊
- cut down a whole load of stuff that was looking dead and ugly - the garden feels better for it and ‘I can see where I’ve been’ … 😉😊
Helped Mr KK by retrieving all ingredients from the cellar fro his Normandy pork casserole - he seems to be quite enjoying feeling he’s achieving something by cooking 😊❤️
Cleaned the bathroom and downstairs loo. That should have been done on Friday but I was too wiped.EDIT: Forgot one - have been in back and forth email dialogue today with a garden centre local to my mum about them planting up a pot of spring bulbs, for them to deliver to my mum for Christmas. So far we have established they don’t normally sell such things, that we are going to go for a blue glazed pot (they sent me a picture of two possibles) and a budget … I’m quite enjoying myself! 😉😂Feel like I have caught up a bit 😊👏 Going to reward myself now with some reading / tapestry / cross stitch - whatever comes 😊

5 hours?????? Eeeeek. Did the washing machine get stuck?!3 -
Nope. His bed was a festering mess (I won’t share any specific details, but it was horrid, not helped by the cat sleeping with Mr KK regularly) and I decided to use a 60 degree wash, which in my current machine, takes five hours! 🙄🤷♀️ Interestingly, Mr KK was horrified by this too, so I think would respond to promptings about more regular bedding changes in future … 😂Brewerspride said:KajiKita said:

Change of topic from 5 hour wash programs ....
I rang Coop this morning to see if our minimum monthly mortgage payment has dropped (I tried 6 months ago after various, reasonably substantial OPs and, either the person I was speaking to didn't understand what I was asking for, or I asked wrong, as they said it hadn't changed, which seemed off at the time, but hey ... 🤷♀️) and today ...
- My previous minimum monthly payment was £1805.58 which after our monthly DD being set at £1810, led to an 'auto OP' of £4.42.
- Now, with our monthly DD being set at £1810, we have a minimum monthly payment of £1762.79, and so an 'auto OP' of £47.21.
- Added to the monthly £110 that I am OP'ing myself because I have my EF at a reasonable level, that means we are now OP'ing £157 pcm
I ran the MSE OP calculator with both numbers (like you do
)
- At £110 OP pcm I take a year off the term
- At £157 pcm I take a year and 5 months off the term.
It feels like my little snowball is finally starting to build a bit ....
As an aside, we are safely below £230K now. Our house EF is almost back up to the target £1,000 - that should be topped up next month or in January.
I want to run all the numbers (get me, 'running numbers'!
🤣over Christmas and decide what OP targets to set for next year ... I have blasted this year's original target to smithereens (partly due to the settlement from old employer though), so I wonder if I can be a bit bolder next year ...? 🤔🤩

That is fantastic
I am such a mortgage data nerd! I am loving your numbers.
Honestly, now my mortgage is gone (in this house) the amount of money that stays in my account after the bills go out is utterly bizarre. Somehow it is so much more than the mortgage payment was.
