I am getting into the habit of buying one tapestry a year as I use it as ‘colour therapy’ all through the winter months, so in effect I get a lot of value from them 😉😊
Yesterday was another tough day but we good some half decent results from the customer audit. They told us we have a foundation (and I think, now that they have met us, if they were told by their Purchasing team to work with us, even though we technically ‘failed’, I think they wouldn’t say that we’re idiots and refuse to! 😉😊). Came home very tired but cooked a meal from scratch just for me (Mr KK was out collecting his Christmas present this is partly from me - new Jeep cushions) that involved left over cauliflower and broccoli in a nooch sauce, sprinkled with the scrag end of a lump of cheddar, heated through and browned in the oven and served with wild rice and air fried tomatoes 😊 It was fabulous 🤩
This morning in work was tough.Blazing row with my No.2 when I asked him for a written statement about an unsafe act he witnessed and intervened in yesterday, so I could do formal follow up. He refused to initially, then said I was over reacting (it related to a supervisor working right inside a machine that had neither had the power knocked off nor been isolated - terrifying risk as far as I’m concerned! 😳), then said he would never tell me anything again, and on and on … it got pretty emotional / heated. In the end I said I would deal with it without him being involved. I’m half expecting his resignation on Monday morning … Sigh …
Then we had an accident. Someone caught their thumb in a machine (distracted unsafe working it looks like) and in pulling their hand out, ripped their thumbnail off … First aider upset as first aid room was a mess (after fire door works) - I cleaned it down with her and the whole floor was unsettled as you would expect after an incident like that ….
Things improved after I left work … 😉
Got home to lots of bags of beautifully riddled compost as the garden contractor was here today 🤩❤️
Gardener then helped me lay the wildflower turf at the front of the house. There was a lot leftover so when Mr KK got home we cut what was left down a bit more and laid it on top of grass in the back garden to see what effect we would get with the shape we could make (running either side of the curving path we cut through the ‘meadow’ each year). I think Mr KK will lay it properly tomorrow.I had a chat with the garden contractor before he left, about what I want to do at the back of the veggie patch (create a metre deep cordon sanitere) and he says he could do it in a day. That will be cheap for the amount of effort it will need! I have requested we aim for a day in January. He also recommended buying a green weed membrane as it has a much tighter weave than the black, and showed me a good design of pegs system he would recommend as well. I will see if Mr KK could buy the membrane and pegs for me for Christmas… 😉😂
Done the grocery shop online for tomorrow morning’s delivery, including the Christmas Chicken (so we have it in stock, ready!).Ordered various useful and needed things for the house such as a new collapsible laundry basket, new tea towel holders, a new gravel trapping doormat and new insert trays for the air fryer as I am *FED UP* 😉 of battling with worn out or broken versions of all of those! 😉
Time to cook an easy tea of bolognese for both of us, with a baked spud for me and spaghetti for himself 😊❤️
