Ach, well done for making the most of your day.
I hesitate to encourage getting rid of friends, as we all have our annoying ways, but late, loud, and disrespectful to your home isn't sounding great

I wouldn't dream of taking my dog to someone's house without asking (or TBH, more likely without them asking me to take him). I have to be clear with friends that just because I have a dog doesn't mean their dog is welcome as I have cats... and while they can bully Stinky, they won't be happy about other dogs in their space. It's a bit different in summer when they can be outside... but even then, i'm still picky as I don't want them trashing the garden! Stinky knows the rules...

Late wasn't really her fault - she was travelling a long way and hit a lot of roadworks.
Loud is a bit overwhelming but can be coped with in short doses.
The dog thing did annoy me tbh. I wouldn’t mind but we’ve had this conversation before, which is why we last met in a garden centre not here.

Thank you for the validation. I did wonder if I was being unreasonable, but Mr KK was getting quite cross (never good, as he tends to speak his mind, bluntly!), so I had to set the boundary. Hopefully, now I’ve done it and she knows we have a field he can run in and a (short) circuit we can walk with him, she might be more ‘on it’ if she comes here with him (her dog that is) again.

  • I've got a friend who always brings her dogs and I've said several times I'm allergic so they can't come in. So she will leave them in the car, window cranked open and all you can hear is them barking 🤦🏻‍♀️ she's done it every time she's visited so I now suggest we meet in a dog friendly cafe (she used to be quite rude about the fact I had a dog and yet hers weren't allowed in...yaaah mine was hypoallergenic 🤦🏻‍♀️) ...the last time we met in ⭐ bucks and the dogs (two not just one) were pulling at tables and barking at kids, trying to steal your snack or drink, and all sorts 🙈 honestly I'd be too embarrassed to take them in but she was oblivious 🤣.
Some friends are more hassle than they're worth. Well done for persevering.

Some of those dinners sound beyond foul.  And remind me of a few I've had or made!!  I'd mention the worst but I wouldn't subject a vegetarian to the description.

Those were hilarious. Sadly I think my apple crumble recently goes on there - I used salt instead of sugar :)
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!
