Been out and bought an armful of pretties from the local plant centre I have put in the patch of ground under the Japanese Maple that I cleared yesterday evening. £23.20 from pocket money so still an NSD 😊 Knocked one of the salvia stems off so brought it inside the house and popped it in some water to see if it might root, as per Redo 🤞😊 Plants I put in are really well watered and I have mulched as well 😊

Cut back the hazel, brambles and other undergrowth at the back of the parking space we have opposite the house. We used to use this area to put my car on until we put the drive in and it’s still worth cultivating as it’s useful for visitors on our single track lane.

Had a nice conversation with my mother! 😳 I asked her about our visit in September and she was mildly exasperated that I wasn’t asking my dad (but when I ask him he says it’s down to her …! 🙄🤷‍♀️😂😂😂 I managed not to say that - please admire my discretion…! 😉). Anyway, she was assuming we would be going round for dinner on the Friday (that’s a big win 😊👏) and apparently my dad would like to go out with us somewhere on the Saturday. So, I took the opportunity to mention the steam train and boat lake ride that Mr KK has been havering at me for years to do …! We will see what comes of it, but that would be a huge win from my perspective! 😊🤞

Read one of the novels I picked up in the library yesterday. It’s a detective type story by an Indian writer and is absolutely stuffed with food references! 😂😉

Wrangled Mr KK’s washing for him and managed to sneak a few bits in there for me! 😉

I am showered and sat in front of the fan now 😊 Going to have another go at a granny square pattern I tried and got muddled on yesterday, whilst Mr KK cooks dinner. Then I have lunch and breakfast to prep for tomorrow and the day will be done 😊

    KK

We've had rumblings of redundancies at work and I've been looking at what I'd do with the money if it happens.  I read something about paying it into a pension, claiming tax relief and also immediately taking a 25% tax free lump sum (I could also take the pension but would leave it invested otherwise MPAA kicks in).  I haven't looked into it properly but, assuming the spitfire flights isn't £22k, I wondered if that might work for MrKK - pension savings as well as some cash for now.

We’ve had a further conversation over dinner and reality is slightly surfacing. 😊 I’ve suggested a four way split:
    - Pension
    - OP
    - Treat / bucket list fund
    - EF - he needs this as his savings, such as they were, have been wiped out by the new tax rules for self employed people.
He could follow the logic of my approach 😊

PS - we’ve evolved from a spitfire flight to a Lancaster flight in Canada now …! 😂😉 (Would probably work out about the same cost overall.)
