Productive morning:
- early start with early breakfast so I could get out
- finished the novel - really wasn’t worth the effort, too many characters and shifting allegiances and then it finished on a cliff hanger. I don’t feel like I want to read the next book, I just feel somewhat manipulated! 😂
- headed out to haircut - 80 mile round trip. Managed to refuel car from top to bottom of the tank in the cheap local fuel station for £42 😊👏
- haircut done. Undercuts back in, shagginess of mane restored. Hairdresser was a bit manic - I was his first client on his first day back off holiday and he’s working until 9pm tonight! 😳
- went across the road from hairdresser’s to the local B00ts and found two bottles of s1mple toner as it has disappeared from a lot of shops again … 🙄 I assume they are repackaging it again to make it smaller for ‘shrinkflation’. Hopefully my new stock will last out until the supply chains are refilled … Managed to pay for both with b00ts points, so no actual monies spent 😊
- headed home, stopping off in the village to pick my prescription
- drove past home and on into town to swop library books
- picked up two freshly baked bread rolls for lunch which I have recrisped in the air fryer 😊
Mildly fatigued now … 😉😊

I find the drive up and down to my hairdressers a good time for thinking … 🤔
I find I am brewing something of a bucket list …
Nothing very ambitious. More of a pivot …
I have finally found a local garden society that I hope I will enjoy being part of - first meeting to go to is in early September.I’d also like to start going to hear live music, preferably classical music …
I also have a slightly mad idea that I’d like to learn to ride a motorbike … Probably a very mad idea but … 🤷♀️😊

Done my financial updates. Nothing scary, though I note that one of my health related subscriptions has come out twice in a month - not helpful! Have paused that until October now.
First standard OP of £110 came out of my account and got paid off the mortgage in August.
(being sensible and OPing / building a pension is not very compatible with living a bit more is it ... sigh ...)
Signature updated.

I know it’s a bit on the wonk! 😂 But I’m really happy with this as it’s the furthest I’ve ever got with a granny square and I now understand the fundamental principles behind how they work now 👏🤩

Well done on the wins, especially the work achievement.
And I'm with you and debtfreewanabe321 on the compatibility struggle. I don't want to find I'm 90 and have paid everything off, but no energy to enjoy all the things I put off doing. Mind you I don't have energy in this heat anyway, I've been doing the minimum - watering, weeding and deadheading. Sad to say it, but roll on some cooler weather and some rain.
Love your plans for classical music, and the slightly mad idea of motorbike riding. We don't have many theatres in reach here, but they screen live showings at the cinema and that's something I am going to reserve some rainy winter Sundays for, and my mad idea is learning to climb, I said I wouldn't do it until I get slimmer and fitter and I'm just about there - so I'm running out of excuses to put it off. Btw, I'm in awe of your crocheting, I've been meaning to teach myself for ages. So much fun stuff to do

Thanks @SandyShores 😊
It’s like I’m surfacing from a very long period in a very dark place and there’s a whole new energy arising in me. I don’t think I’ve felt like this since I was a teenager … (Odd, I know … 🤷♀️😊).
I’ve done climbing in the past so I know that’s not for me (I’m really not good with heights and it’s getting worse as I’m getting older too! 😂). But it’s a good thing to do as you have to be ABSOLUTELY in the moment and aware of what you are doing 😊
Thanks for the crochet comments too 😊
I now have a friend badgering me to teach her! 😂😉🤷♀️
It takes a bit of fiddling at, but once you’ve got your head around the ‘structure’ of it it all becomes quite logical. I admitted defeat today and found a you-toob vid to follow and it unlocked a detail I have been struggling with for weeks … (Too stubborn for my own good me, I was determined to learn it from a book you see … 🙄😉😂)
