Don’t laugh (too much …. 😉) but I have started trying to learn how to crochet again.Managed chain, double and treble stitches tonight and changing colour, which I have never done before but my edges are rather wonky … 😉

Looks like a good start to me. I am finding crochet very soothing. The edges get easier with practice. Someone suggested using a stitch holder in the last stitch so you know that you have done them all which keeps it straight. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

Thanks @beanielou and @redofromstart. I think I need to find some crochet stitch holders. I have knitting ones but as they slide onto the needle they won’t work for crochet. Also, according to the crafting board, as well as missing stitches, I have also not chained at the start of the rows for the treble and double stitches, which means that the stitches are ‘squashed’ due to a lack of room, if that makes sense.KKAs at 15.07.25:

I am rubbish at crocheting, I have tried and tried and my nan kept telling me it was easy but that made it harder. She eventually showed me how to knit and I could do that much easier so I stuck with that. So well done from me, because I can't even do one lineMORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. I am impressed by anyone who can turn some yarn and a needle or 2 into anything other than a huge mess. Both my Mum and sister are very skilled knitters and DD and my sister are brilliant at crochet.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

Thanks @debtfreewannabe321 and @Baileys_Babe 😊
I went out to look at the pergola this evening because I thought it was looking pretty. Mr KK suddenly stuck his head out of the lounge to tell me that he had had to prop up one of the roses there. So I got stuck in with twine and scissors and ended up tying loads of honeysuckle, roses and the two sweet peas at the front - a really lovely way to spend 20 minutes ❤️
And a little win today. I had a set of new thongs turn up that actually fit! FINALLY!! I have been looking for years … A job for this weekend will be to clear out the holey ones (ahem!) and the ones that fit badly, low, too tight etc. 😊 Such a relief …
