Great that you have support from a psychologist. I've realised (at such a late stage in life) that when I'm around people, I'm so busy making sure other people feel comfortable that a) I neglect my own comfort and b) its completely exhausting to be around people. I've been working on not worrying about others so much - they are grown ups just like me. I think there's something about my focussing on other people is a kind of distraction, but would love a session to dig a bit deeper with a professional.
Another one here who is on the healthy eating journey too and I feel so much better. I listened to a podcast by the van Tulleken docs the other day. They were saying that putting on weight isn't a failure or lack of willpower - the food companies spend millions on making irresistible food that's bad for you. So if you can beat them you are doing well, it made me feel better about putting weight on when I was going through the menopause."Think of many things, do one"

Lots going on with you KK. Agree that it's great you've had a psychologist follow up. I relate to your feelings a lot around work and socialising as well as food and eating for comfort. I've also been very mindful about what I'm eating lately. I've ditched the 'diet' focus and am mindfully trying to put nourishing good food into my body because I deserve the best foods not junk. ❤️MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. Interesting thought about focusing on other people being a kind of distraction @SandyShores. I think you’re right. And another good point about food industry ‘tricks and manipulation’ - that makes me feel better, thank you! 😊
Yes, much going on, in a quiet way, here @debtfreewannabe321 😊

This!! ^^^ 🤩😊
In some ways I am eating more atm, but it is better quality food and I think I am feeling better for it.In other news, I have cancelled my Netflicks subscription. That’s £12.99 I can do something more useful with 😊

I'll admit to being dreadful trying to be on a diet so have tried instead to do as much cooking from scratch as possible. Then at least I know what I'm eating rather than being enticed by marketing to eat premade food. Finally did my financial updates for the last two weeks. Glad I’ve got on top of it before I get paid next week.Picked another 655g of strawberries. We are drowning in them! 🍓😂Spent the whole of the rest of the day in the garden. I have had a job ‘looking at me’ for aaaages … namely clearing, prepping and planting my cut flower patch. Finally got it done today with cardboard from work, lots of water, compost and sunshine ☀️ Dahlias, cosmos and zinnias with a couple of short verbena for filler 😊
Didn’t get a before picture but here’s the finished job

Greenhouse got planted today! Whoo hoo! 🥳🎊🎉 Cucumbers, sweet peppers, three types of tomatoes and a light sprinkling of marigolds. Right at the back, @Watty1 are the two myrtles that turned up this week after I COMPLETELY forgot about them! 😉😂
And I beat back the bindweed. 🌱 🌿🌱🌱🌱🌿🌱🌱🌱🌱🌿
And I mulched my spuds as they have finally started to grow. 🥔And I cleaned, tidied and rearranged my bedroom (ornaments, unguents, jewellery etc.). I have moved my ‘altar space’ (a strange mix of shamanic and Buddhist objects and symbolism) to the top of the bookcase by my bed. It looks better there and I can see the objects better. It feels soooo much better in there as this is a job I have been putting off and avoiding for weeks. I need to find a way to include in some kind of regular round … 🤔
Mr KK meanwhile, has been pulling the kitchen apart to start the install of the dishwasher (finally! 🎊🎉🎊🎉🎊🥳). Electrics are done, tiles were safely recovered and have been stuck back on and flooring extended to under where the cupboard was. It will be plumbing next - washing machine hose and jubilee clipping waste onto the spigot that is spare on the sink waste. I am very proud of him for doing this - he’s not keen on doing either electrics or plumbing, but he really didn’t want us to have to pay someone to do it.Tired now but satisfied 😊

Plumbing is like black magic. The Dark Arts. Arcane mysteries. Theoretically it is perfectly simple, then water gets involved, and water will always find a way.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
