Rather curate’s egg here …
Mr KK is horribly tender and tired but has had an afternoon and evening of being able to sit and watch films fairly normally. He had a cwtch with Chloe and managed a light lunch and a light tea. The numb area on his leg is a little smaller. The thing that seems to have made the biggest difference to him is a hot water bottle on the inside of his thigh where the pain is, rather than on his back where the nerves originate. I did manage to get out for a short walk this afternoon and it isn’t as full on trauma-drama here atm, thankfully. My mother just rang to tell me that my 84 year old father went out hill walking alone this afternoon and still hadn’t returned, by 8.30pm! I googled the mountain rescue contact details and was persuading her to give them a ring. He then turned up 5 minutes later! It was dark at 4pm ….!!! 😳🙄 I suppose the one thing I can take from this, is that my mum (of all people) rang *me* for advice - first time in my life I think! I will be ringing my father tomorrow to talk to him about how if he won’t not go walking alone, that we need a full protocol of where he is walking, expected return time etc. Thank everything he is okay. A year bookended by FiL being diagnosed at one end and my father dying of exposure at the other would have undone me …

Oh goodness me! I'm glad Mr KK has had a relatively peaceful evening, but no, you do not need that stress on top! A protocol is a good idea (for anyone, whatever age, I think) when hill walking alone, especially in the winter. Good that your mum rang you as you say.
Hope you have a restful evening xx1 -
Well phew to Mr KK feeling a bit better and your dad being okay. Think you definitely deserve a designated self care session early this week, your poor nerves!1

There’s a bit of me that understands why he does this, but it is just sooo selfish …
In nicer news, Mr KK slept well last night and so far today, 🤞 is not in significant pain.KKAs at 15.07.25:
