Oh KK, how awful. I can only imagine how helpless you must feel 😕😕😕 no advice from me, just sending healing thoughts through the airwaves in your direction xx
  • Hi @KajiKita. Not totally surprised as he is obviously in so much pain.  I couldn’t have done them at my worst.  I just had to pick a moment and then I could only do a bit.   I have also done them on the bed when I couldn’t got on the floor.  It isn’t as flat/firm as the floor but better than nothing I found.
If he can find a bit of sleep and see if there is a small opportunity somewhere.
Take care yourself as well as it is very hard for partners when there is so much pain and so little help offered
Sending hugs and hoping for some sleep for Mr KK and yourself and some progress tomorrow.

    L x

  • Sending gentle hugs to you both.
Definitely sounds a good idea to get those sessions booked in and those exercises started as soon as he's able.

As you say, normal meds aren't going to hugely help but just to check, is he taking both paracetamol and ibuprofen? Lots of people think you shouldn't take two meds together (which is often true!) but those two are fine to take at the same time. Just saying in case it helps ease anything temporarily enough he can get a tiny bit more comfortable..
Microwavable heat packs and hot water bottles also good ideas, and apparently it's effective to alternate ice packs and heat pads, preferably cold/ice packs rather than warmth to start with
Also make him sip water, though if a large whisky etc might help at this point go for it.
Make him move. I know he's not up for exercises right now but staying in the painful position won't help, even if it feels the least painful position right now. Get him to bed/comfy floor so he's in a position to hopefully sleep at some point, he must be exhausted.
Make him go to the loo first so he doesn't have to contend with that sooner in the night, and check with him he is peeing okay! If he's not, go A&E.

I'm so sorry for him (and you), pain is so incredibly miserable
  • Sorry, on re-reading, that was a very bossy post, I just went into officious emergency mode for someone I care about! I know full well how very awful pain can be so have an 'all hands to the pump' matron's attitude to it. I'm sure you'd rock a crisply ironed sternly tucked uniform too.
Hope you both manage a decentish nights kip x

The poor thing seemed to be unhurt but utterly lacking in any get up and go any more - hence why Chloe lost interest in it, I think. I would normally borrow Mr KK’s slippers for the removal but he was mid howl so I didn’t think it fair to disturb him for them … Used a washed out takeaway crayon with a piece of cardboard underneath and dropped it into some long grass at the base of a wall. A little brown (field, I think?) mouse 😊❤️
And yes, I rewashed the takeaway carton!
