We went to a farm park place with Mr Redos grandsons, and they had pygmy goats for sale. I had zero interest in goats before that (although I wanted pigs, and hens) but they were so stupidly cute that I seriously though about destroying the garden for them but we agreed to wait until we bought the Welsh acres. Free range hens destroy everything btw.My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

And yes, livestock like goats and hens are not compatible with a serious garden, except without serious barriers and management! 😉😊

Even cats (ooh look, you dug me a litter tray) and dogs (ooh look, cat poo) aren't compatible with gardens a lot of the time. Bantams are better than chickens when it comes to damage, and they do eat slugs.2

Your ex boss was unhinged and how he chose to conduct himself is absolutely no reflection on you.
As so many of your colleagues have testified with their gratitude to you.
Big well done to you on a very successful year, that you have achieved even while dealing with an unfair share of difficulties and sadnesses- none of them due to you x3 -

I do want to reiterate that you did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING wrong at work - your boss was an absolute menace, and none of what happened was your fault. So please don't carry that with you into the new year.
Hope 2025 is easier for you xx
On the one hand, I understand what you are saying. But there is always something to learn in these situations.I can see now, with a bit more perspective, that I didn’t explain myself well enough, didn’t tell my boss what I was actually working on. I know it wouldn’t have changed the outcome, but, and this is an important one for me, I would have felt a bit more in control and a little less like ‘prey’ - I’ve been in a similar dynamic with a male boss before, who was as cold as a shark … Repeating patterns like this need to be understood otherwise they recur and recur. I don’t want that.KK
Hugs for your cats too, it's always hard to lose a beloved pet x3 -

great year round up
your review perspective especially on your boss communication style is very useful as you sayDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Get the behind me, temptress … bantams sound cute … and manageable …. 😉

I love your year's round up. I haven't sat down properly to do mine, mines been what I can remember off the top of my head 😆.
Too many losses for you in 2024...I hope that 2025 is a year of happiness and holding on to those you love KK 🙏🏻💓
My little hetty 👇🏻...a little rescue chicken and absolutely full of life. She loved cuddles and stealing your food and following me everywhere and keeping the dog in his place 😆 I'm thinking of getting more....i have an area of garden I could close off for some because as Redo says they destroy everything and even when wings are clipped are master escape artists 😉☺️

@debtfreewannabe321, Mr KK says Hetty is a handsome chicken! He’s quite keen on hens 😊 Thank you for the good wishes. I suspect you will be surprised when you look back at how much you have done this year - new home and new job just for starters! Mr KK was quite chuffed when I reminded him of how much we have done around the house this year as he had forgotten quite a bit of it 😊
For those that were interested - the ultrasonic jewellery cleaner is working really well. I use toothpastes tablets and so crushed c. 6 of those in a pestle and mortar and added that to the cleaning water. Some things are coming out better than others but everything is definitely coming out cleaner! My delicate leaf sliver earrings and my silver dragonfly pendant are absolutely sparkling ✨ It’s taking a bit of managing, as the run cycle is very short. My method now seems to be - put jewellery in the cleaning solution, run it once, leave it all to soak, run it twice more and rinse it.I’m enjoying my new tapestry. Set it up on the new frame yesterday as well as sewing up all the thread colours and have done c. 2” square so far. Mr KK delighted that I am happy. I have indulged myself to the tune of a new (second) magnetic needle holder as I only have one that is currently on my cross stitch frame and I lost the original tapestry needle from this latest kit down the side of the sofa last night! 🙄 Zero chance of digging that out, though I did try and found a missing metal knitting needle 👏 This doesn’t beat Mr KK though - he lost his mobile - when I rang it that had gone down his side of the sofa and when ferreting after it he also found a Stanley knife and a biro! 🙄😂😂😂
Heading out to Hay on Wye shortly for a day out (hope enough places are open) but am quite *determined* not to buy any books that don’t genuinely add something to my quality of life … If the crystal / jewellery shop is open however, all bets are off! 😉😂

Does Mr KK not have a magnetic ended stick/rod thing? amazing for picking up lost needles in the carpet (DH is a master needle loser) and don't get me started on crafting scalpel blades on the floor!Enjoy your day out.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
