@LadyWithAPlan, I give the chickens reiki to remove any stress or distress from the body before I cook it and feed it to Mr KK, so that stress / distress doesn’t get passed on to Mr KK. It’s something I learned from my American Buddhist teacher who lives in Japan, whose wife does it with all meat before cooking it for her family.
I also do it because I lived as a straight vegan for 4 years and did an animal communication course some years ago and although I sucked at it! 😉 I got enough insight into how chickens (and sheep interestingly 😊) see the world, that I want to give that individual chicken that is dead in my kitchen, something back for giving up their life to be food. I see it as helping them in the bardo and with their rebirth.I appreciate that for people who eat meat without a second thought this will all sound VERY odd (I did for years and years, but 8 years of praying daily, for the end of suffering for every sentient being, permanently changed something in me) 😉😊 but I struggle with having meat in the house and having a whole bird (I.e. a full corpse) is often horrific for me. This allows me to go through this process with a minimum of distress for me. It’s like an ethical compromise. 🤷♀️
For those that do reiki, if you try it, you will feel the difference before and after doing it in something like a chicken or even an animal you have come across that has been knocked down by a car.I appreciate that this won’t align with others’ views and some may even find it a bit challenging. If so, please be kind on my thread.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Love your reiki reasoning, I live in a family of meat eaters (organic only, but it’s stilll meat), I’m vegetarian. This is something I’m
going to look into more as I’m intrigued .Love 🐞

I haven't heard of doing reiki on a dead animal to help it ... Hasn't its soul already left the body by then? Although I am understanding the trauma left in the body because it's one of the reasons why I won't eat meat. I believe the trauma it's been through makes it as a food item very low vibrational quality (as opposed to high vibrational fruit lets say) and can make us sick. As well as those of us who are empathic suffer with IBS and other illness long term (again my views I don't care if anyone else doesn't think like this but would appreciate no hate 🙏🏼) so...the reiki...I will have to look this up back to the point as DS2 eats meat here still every now and then. The rest of us choose not to but he does have it occasionally when he fancies it. I may have try reiki on it as he ends up sick a lot after a big meal of steak for example.

I've never heard of doing reiki on meat before eating it (but having been vegetarian for almost 30 years I've never really had occasion to consider it). I'm certainly in no position to judge having given all of our beloved pet chickens a proper funeral and burial (although admittedly not reiki, even while they were alive)4

I celebrated the end of seven years of vegetarianism by eating an entire packet of ham in one sitting.

I know nothing about reiki, but having been a vegetarian since the age of 14 I applaud you. My family are all meat eaters, and I share how you feel about having a corpse in the house. It happens only at Christmas and I hate it.0

Interesting thought on the reiki. The thing I struggle with with reiki is sending reiki to things that have happened in the past.I am a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Mortgage Free Wannabe & Local Money Saving Scotland & Disability Money Matters.
