I am not a fan of tempeh..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

I am not a fan of tempeh..I was a bit scared of it as I had read so many negative things about it. The brand I picked up said that it didn’t need boiling to get rid of the bitterness and I found it inoffensive. I had it on a base of spinach in a cheez sauce with a cooked tomato on the side (an unintentionally vegan meal 😊). I think I would cook the tempeh more next time to make it crispier.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Not a fan of tofu or tempeh here so sorry that the workplace dramas from an ex-colleague have rattled your new found calmness about the place. I wonder if in the long run it might be helpful though? In reassuring every part of your subconscious that your outcome had nothing to do with you whatsoever and is a result of the toxic workplace and incompetence therein.
Hugs xMade it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!3 -
I LOVE your pond KK!
I had a nice pond in the last house but I wasn't very good at maintaining it, hopefully its new owners know what they're doing with it
I don't like tempah, have tried it a few times now and just can't seem to get on with it, same for seitan. Tofu however we love here, especially as it takes on the flavour of whatever you're cooking - have you tried making your own tofu? I made some with red lentils and it came out really well, super healthy too.
Old workplace- I am still catching up on that bit of your diary, but I feel like it turned as toxic as my old workplace - I will catch up though on that.MORTGAGE BALANCE when we moved Aug 2024, £120,000. LOVE your pond.
I too haven't read exactly what went on in your old workplace, but sounds like it's for the best you no longer work there! Sympathies to your ex-colleague and I hope he manages to find a great new job somewhere else.Part time working mum | Married in 2014 | DS born 2015 & DD born 2018

@Watty1, it was quite cathartic to talk it all through with him from his perspective. He kept saying how utterly dysfunctional the place is …. 😉
@debtfreewannabe321, interesting isn’t it. The only tofu I can tolerate is smoked tofu. The rest are so bland and I have yet to find a flavouring method that actually does FLAVOUR it! 😉 Please share all hints and tips for rendering tofu edible please … 😉 Sietan is just a bit weird … Glad that both you and @Bluegreen143 are vicariously enjoying our pond 😊
Thank you @I_Love_comps 😊 I hope the diary read wasn’t too dry! 😉
Ex colleague is fine. I think he saw it coming as his team absolutely malletted him in the recent site engagement survey and his team as a whole hasn’t been performing that well … Also, I discovered this morning that he is financially secure enough that he doesn’t actually need to work - in his late 30s, very obscure electronics specialism, lived frugally and has low £millions in stocks, shares and pensions! He’s always been quite emotionally detached from what he was doing and I suspect this financial security might partly explain it. He wants to work again as he wants something to do so I told him that as he has no *need* to work for security he needs to identify something that awakens a spark of excitement in him. Let’s see how it pans out for him 😊
I was able to explain the process to him, what steps would happen in what order and I think he found it genuinely useful. He was quite touched that I had typed up all my thoughts as notes for him. 😊
