Decent storage is important. My kitchen is useless (as is the utility room). I can't wait to redo them. But have to - at least until the puppy is house trained and no longer chewing!3

We don't need to redo the kitchen, but we do need to find something sensible to do with plastic tubs - they're in a corner cupboard with a rounded door and they just spring out in a giant jack in the box style booby trap 😂5

One of the best things I bought when I started making the house mine was a storage "thingy" on Amaz0n for oven trays and saucepan lids etc. I used it in a cupboard (slightly over my head height) for oven trays, baking trays and all that. Now I open the cupboard (lift up door) and slide out the tray i need. Love it. In error I bought two so i used the second for saucepan lids in the drawer with the saucepans. It takes up a lot of room but no more clattering when the drawer is open as all the pans are in there neatly stacked and the lids are at the side.
Tiny things make such a difference (Many many lightbulbs in a bright pink cardboard box - probably need sorting some day).

I had a half written draft response KajiKita saying that I'm copying you and having a day off from 'shoulds'. I think that might have been from last weekend just as I was coming down with something (back now though). I've spoken to a lot of people this week, we're all a bit in the doldrums - is it the cold weather/approach of Winter? Love the idea of the Christmas stuff on the sideboard, I think I need to get some Christmas lights going soon to bring some cheer.
Lightbulbs are in a crate on a shelf in the garage with a few other 'useful things' - don't ask me what, but they must be useful as I chucked them in the crate
Muddy cat paws - I get these from time to time. When they are just on the side of the bed near my face (especially if the sheets are new on) I get a wet cloth and wash them off, then flip the sheet around so they are down the bottom of the bed. Not ideal but getting him to wipe his paws was a no
Well done on the interviews, don't forget that if you get a job offer you don't have to take it or could you possibly do it on a trial period - there's nothing to lose if you are open with them. Good luck whatever you decide."Think of many things, do one"

Not sophisticated but will give us a starter for 10 when looking for something …
@SandyShores, how did you find the ‘not shoulds’ day? I find them quite liberating … Re the possible job I have my doubts about, my concern is about their succession planning and how big it would make the role I would be in at that time … so it would end being a two year trial period! 😂😉
I’d given myself permission today to not look for work or even think too much about it … I’m not even stressing about the activity recording email for the job centre or the interview I have not heard back about for a week now! 🤷♀️
I’ve rested a lot and watched a lot of Ka0s on Netflix (a modern retelling of the Zeus etc tales - brilliant albeit a bit violent!),
rang a friend in Japan for nearly two hours first thing - lots of chat about our favourite bands in our teens), whilst doing cross stitch at my end 😊,
got out in the garden for an hour - did some veggie patch weeding and weeded, re-edged and remulched the Bay tree and amalancher 😊
and cleaned the loo and bathroom - so that chore is done BEFORE the weekend! 👏
Made Mr KK happy - year and years ago I went to Edinburgh with a load of friends. Whilst we were there we all went to a whiskey tasting (not the usual sort of thing I do, but when in Scotland etc. … 😊). I was really impressed by the simple, elegant, crystal, tasting glasses we were given to trip the whiskey from, so bought two to bring home. Mr KK is a fairly serious whiskey drinker and loves them. Unfortunately I broke one last week 😢 and then I discover that the other of the pair has a tiny chip. Mr KK was quite upset as he had looked for the glass type before and couldn’t find them. I did a search, a very thorough one, found them, ordered one and it arrived late this evening - Mr KK’s face when he opened the shipping box was an absolute picture ❤️😊🤩Feeling a bit better this evening compared to yesterday.KKAs at 15.07.25:

Glad he likes his new whisky glass!! I don't like to touch my OH's but then again I'd be livid if he broke/chipped the Georg Jenson glass I got in Copenhagen in 1975. Astounded to think I still have it. He did apologise recently for not taking better care of some green hand made wine glasses I have had even longer. My mom brought 24 of them back from Mexico (6 for each my 3 bros and me) and I'm currently down to 3 healthy ones and one with a chipped base.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards.
