Mr KK is worried about the cats, we are both missing them.My room is damp (the place is upside down with the bedrooms downstairs, which we have always disliked) and everywhere smells of CHEMICALS (the reed diffusers with cheap scents and things like neutrad0l)) - I hate that. My cough seems to be getting worse not better here. It’s very very grey and bleak in its decor ….There is a smart meter screen in the kitchen with a target that we have nearly reached, supported by a LONG lecture by the landlady about consumption …
The shower is almost unusable as it is so smallI slept really badly last night - work is churning through my head every morning … sigh ….

It's so hard to judge based on the pictures isn't it? Sometimes we came back the night before rather than dashing round to be out by 10am and then heading up the M5 with the rest of the holiday swap over people.Hope you have an enjoyable day whatever you decide. My mortgage free diary: https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6498069/whoops-here-comes-the-cheese

When we’ve gone to places with those smelly reed things or stinky plug in things , we tend to put them in a cupboard or the garage. They tend to give me dreadful headaches. Managed so far, not to forgot to put them back. I’d complain once your home about the damp. Take care

All those "air freshener" type things give me a headache and make me wheeze, I would need to remove them. It sounds like they have the reed diffusers etc in place to disguise the damp smell.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent

We had a lovely day on the coats in the sunshine 🌞 and the breeze 🍃 and now we are HOME! 🎉 Chloe was delighted to see Mr KK and nervy around me but is currently curled up in the other end of the sofa from me 😊 We have’t seen George yet but the neighbour saw him this morning ❤️
Soooo very glad to be home and actually the forecast here is dryer than the holiday location tomorrow! 😊👏I agree that all the reed diffusers were there to disguise the smell of the damp. There was a neutad0l pot in the back of the crockery cupboard and that meant everything tasted of it … (until I clicked on as to what was happening and stopped putting clean items back in there … 🙄)
I’ve just used the butter that we had out on the table there and I could literally taste the reed diffuser in it … ugh …. Recovered it by cutting off the outside edges (it had permeated a mm or so into the exposed surface) and rewrapped it in fresh parchment paper.
This means to me that we have been absorbing, imbibing and breathing in these horrible chemicals every moment we were in that property. Not great.
Luxuries this evening include:
- no chemical smells / exposure
- unlimited hot water (instead of teeny tank that is barely enough to wash up in)
- a proper shower
- clean bed linen
- a bed that isn’t hard
We are so useless at holidays! 😂😂😂
