Where can I buy such clickers? I’m assuming dried liver treats would be the optimal bribery …? 😉KK
There are lots of great resources for free on the net but i started by just teaching her a click meant she could have a treat then putting a treat near her basket and clicking when she got the treat so gradually she realised if she went near the basket opening she got a click and a treat then we progressed to going in the basket for a click and a treat. It took time but it is so nice not to have to stress about her going in her basket as she hates being picked up and is both fast and vicious if I attempt anything she does not approve of. on the rare times i have taken her to the vets in the basket i go back to simple clicker for a treat and going in but the door is not shut on the basis that 10 great treat sessions possibly makes up for one vet visit
WattyDog also clicker trained when he was younger to do a high five, go to his bed and "pray" (he used to put his front paws on a chair and lower his head between them to pray). WattyDog very cute, writing this makes me realise i should get the clicker and the treats out and try to re-do the training the ex ruined rather than just put up with him and his appalling behaviour now. When the course I'm doing is over I will start clicker training with him. Feel free to remind me.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!5 -
@Watty1, I have never tried to train any animal before so this will be a while new thing for me - thank you for encouraging me. Perhaps we can train in parallel 😊😉
I am hoping for you that Watty-Dig’s training ‘muscle-memory’ will make the training happen quickly for you and I suspect that once he clocks on that he is making his hooman even happier, he will be quite motivated 😊❤️

Hi
Re picking up naughty cats may I just add wearing a pair of heavy duty gardening gloves or similar as a precautionary measure too.

Glad you are processing in your own way. I did a vision board that led to my job before this one and then onto this one with the same organisation. I got very quick results. I've also done similar for houses in the past and its worked. I obviously need to do one around art and writing.,,
we all are cheering you on your vision board wins now
sorry to see your scratches - I found gloves freaked mine out more - plus one cat was easier to catch /pop in basket than the other . So I would always do the hardest one first when she was least expecting it - if she saw the chilled one in the basket she would hide ..DON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Now a dog person but previously had a wonderful cat. 'My stepfather gave me novelty slippers once with gigantic, spookily lifelike cat heads at the front. I only wore them the once as they put her into a state of frenzied terror. Hope your scratches are soon better @KajiKita love Humdinger xx4

Without thinking recently I picked our kitten Byron up and held him above my head whereupon he went all floofy and hissed - I hadn't taken into account:
A) It was dark
B ) We had the lights on and
C) When I lifted him up he was opposite the window and saw his own reflection and deduced that there is an evil kitten outside the window.
Whenever he is naughty now we say we are going to get Evil Byron.5 -
It’s been quite a day ….
Stopped off at a couple of beaches briefly - a memorial and a Sherman tank ….
Then a 43 acre woodland, steeply landscaped garden, which I suspect we saw almost all of, as we got lost in it and it took us quite a long time to get back out again! 😳😂
Haircut for Mr KK at a walk in barbers - whilst he was waiting I found a couple of nice books in a nearby bookshop.
Quieter end of afternoon - on the sofa with books, Mr KK nodding off and scones with posh strawberry jam and clotted cream.
Sent the traditional postcard to my mother 😉
Trundled over to the next town, in the evening’s fading light and heavy rain to have dinner with an old militaria friend and family of Mr KK’s - a genuinely nice evening 😊
Drive home was … torrential rain, partially flooded roads, dense patches of fog and narrow twisty Devon lanes - very glad we are back safe!14K steps today …. I suspect we will both sleep well tonight.
The forecast here for tomorrow is dreadful so there will be hunkering down, reading, knitting, modelling etc happening 😊

Hope you had a good time overall. Been there with cat scratches. I kind of stand my cat box on end and drop it in backwards. I only found out last year it completely splits in two but the cat is such an escape artist it's the best way.
Glad the skimmer is done.

Hope the weather perks up for you soon.Weather tomorrow, for our last day looks lovely and a rest day today won’t be the end of the world after yesterday’s adventures! 😉One piece of good news - woken up to an email from the last energy company saying that they owe us £183.03 and that will be with us within 10 days. Another good boost to the joint household savings account 😊 Now, do I tell Mr KK or not? The last time I mentioned ‘free’ money he wanted to spend it on a meal out whilst down here … 🤔
