Glad you had some nice time out of the stinky rental and that you're now home, and that Chloe is almost talking to you3

Wash your night clothes (actually, all your clothes) as they'll probably smell of the laundry detergent the landlady was using.3

Shame about your holiday place, bet you were glad to get back to your lovely home. Sounds like you had some nice time out and about, its a lovely county. I won't stay anywhere these days that isn't nicer than my own home - otherwise I'd rather stay home with the cat - in fact most of the time I'd rather stay home with the cat anyway"Think of many things, do one"

Tbh, I think I need to get myself off my tush and go somewhere different enough that I would feel more committed to ‘being on holiday’. I’ve just seen that a neighbour has gone to Crete - I think somewhere like that would be stimulating enough, with history, culture etc, warm and sunshiney but not too hot in October / November…. 🤔

You know have me thinking about winter sun and a holiday although that is just not going to happen with the VNM, his mother, 3 horses, WattyDog a cat and a full on at the moment company of my own
The flip side is a couple of evenings ago I sat on the concrete yard, listening to the horses munching and just relaxing in the dark and 18 degrees warmth which was lovely. Maybe I don't need a holiday.
And blech to chemical smells and reed whatsits and damp. Glad you are home.Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became
In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!2 -
I’m struggling a bit.Whenever I am out of work I seem to go through a doom loop (not entirely unsurprisingly) of: I am too old, too fat, too awkward, too weird to ever get a job again and we will lose everything ….
Logically I know it’s nonsense, but it’s chuntering away in the back of my head and atm I also seem to be still decompressing from my last job (waking in the mornings, dreaming about it etc.).I guess I just have to plod on, though I am three weeks in and have no motivation to start applying for jobs at all …. Not that I have seen anything suitable locally yet … (haven’t looked that hard yet).I will give myself the rest of this weekend and then start making efforts towards getting a new job for next week.
My first step will be to review my presence on CV L1brary as the geography settings seem wildly off! And update my CV there.
Need to use the green ring on LI and do a post to support that.
I thought I might also try looking at industrial estates everywhere around me and try a cold drop of my CV at the bigger companies - I have never done that before but it might yield something.Applications are the thing - that gets me in front of recruiters. In the meantime ….
- I have plants from yesterday to get in the ground to cheer the front garden by the gate that I see every time I go out of the front door to get to the ‘utility’.- It’s a good drying day (before the monsoon of tomorrow) so will wrangle Mr KK’s washing whilst he is out (hopefully!) selling some of the militaria ….
- Need to fiddle with and rotate my washing on the heated airer so all of that can go away today.
- Get myself re-set in Nutr@check - it’s very dull but it is the most effective thing I have found to contain my eating ….

Sorry to hear about the doom 🙁 Not surprising though. You are extremely capable woman, but your confidence/identity is bound to have taken a bit of a knock with everything you've been through this year.
Are there any recruiters you could speak to that could do the hard work of looking for a job for you? Wasn't there one that approached you about a role a year or so ago? They might be a good starting point, as they'll already have a good idea about you xMortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Perfectly normal to have a phase of feeling mentally battered after a trauma- if your workplace relations had been a romantic relationship everyone would have been screaming at you to get out but somehow we're expected to brush off toxicity and emotional abuse in the place we spend the most time!
Take as long as you need to rest and let yourself recover. As long as there's a roof over your head and food on the table, everything else can be dealt with when you're ready.7
