I can hear the occasional 'toot' of a steam whistle in the distance (our local farm hosts the odd steam festival and seems to be a regular stop for them) and hope the weather has been kind for Mr KK and co, and for you if you have been in the garden. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. I am currently sunning myself on an warm European beach after a swim - and refused to bring my laptop with me - amazing how much more relaxed I feel alreadyDON'T BUY STUFF (from Frugalwoods)
No seriously, just don’t buy things. 99% of our success with our savings rate is attributed to the fact that we don’t buy things... You can and should take advantage of discounts.... But at the end of the day, the only way to truly save money is to not buy stuff. Money doesn’t walk out of your wallet on its own accord.

Thanks @CCW007, @skint_spice, @ladybird1106 and @LadyWithAPlan 😊
I’m quietly resurfacing. Haven’t done a huge amount over the last few days but managed to knock over a few long standing chores and have completely cleared one veg bed that never got cleared over the winter and has been ‘away’ all year.My right shoulder is giving me gyp - not exactly sure why but it’s irritating and woken me up the past few nights. In spite of this over the past few days I have:
- done lots of knitting - I am half way down the last ball of wool 😊
- cleaned the kitchen floor in front of where the Little Cats eat - George especially has a penchant for lifting food out of his bowl and eating it from the floor! This is a job I need to keep on top of now.- updated all my finances after a month of not updating them! 😳 Took some doing but I am all straight now, ready for payday on Thursday 😊
- returned two pairs of trousers to MnS that don’t fit - so that will be £62 coming back to me. Tried another supply source for work trousers … sigh … (I seem to have size 14 legs and bum but size 16 stomach - thanks menopause …)
- cleaned the bathroom - mr KK is currently up there fitting an over basin shelf, hand towel holder and new shower door strip seal (he cut the first one too short … ahem … 😉)
- tried a new recipe - inedible disaster but I’d rather find out when there is only me here to eat it! 😉
- went to steam fair on Sunday to see Mr KK and his truck. There was really lovely atmosphere and he had a lovely time
- fed and watered all my patio pots - they all have saucers under them now too.- cleared the veg bed - as a reward tomorrow I will go to the plant centre and see what they have that I can pop in there now 😊
- harvested more sweet peas, peas and other cut flowers.- checked and corrected the draft PC minutes
- done lots and lots and lots of D0wnton watching 😊
- made a bolognese batch for Mr KK 😊My Tithonia has finally started flowering ❤️🤩
