Well I have had a strange day ….
It started badly at 3.30am, waking with overheating and then ruminating on work meant I couldn’t get back to sleep … I was genuinely struggling to walk up the stairs to the office when I got to work, as I was dreading the day so much ….
Back to back meetings all day, literally.Ducked / delegated one.Another morphed, but usefully, off topic.Disengaged team member came in late again, but was vaguely productive and has lost some of the silly attitude. I then left them trailing in my wake in two meetings that I led and showed them ‘how it’s done’ 🤷♀️
Helped a useful member of my team with an external assessment that happens four times a year with the same assessor for 10+ years - we’d had to formally concess and control a workaround for a customer complaint a few weeks ago - that actually gave the assessor something new and interesting to look at and we have no non-conformities 😊💪👏
Long but productive meeting with supplier on a critical assembly they make for us. Managed to sustain the collaborative vibe I have established with them and there was lots of really good, cross team dialogue 😊
Came out of work shattered but feeling really good. 😊
Got home and flew though food prep for tomorrow before running through a shower and heading out to the parish council meeting. I was dreading this too as we had got to the point that we thought we were unsustainable at the last meeting and should we wind up / get reabsorbed into another PC …? I knew I would also have to chair the meeting as we have no Chair and I am vice chair.Actually, I haven’t laughed so much in years. The atmosphere was really buoyant, it’s like they all looked over the precipice of ‘giving up’ and shutting down our little PC and decided, “no, I don’t want that!” Fascinating. I was a bit scattered (I had two sets of minutes and an agenda to juggle! 😳😂) but we kept to time and we have agreed on a lot of actions. Really good fun. Even the GOG (grumpy old g1t) got an action from me! 😂😂😂
