Thanks for the leak sympathy 😉😊
I have had a lovely, warm, properly wet, level standing surface (still a novelty! 😂) shower and hit 10K steps as I went upstairs for it. Not bad for a day in which I feel I have been really quite lazy! 😊

10k steps on a lazy day... Good job you can't see my normal step counter. It was fab while I was away but not so much normally.
Hope the plumber turns up and resolves things.
Lovely photo of cats.
On the job - count down the days to your holidays - and then perhaps put feelers out. I imagine though in your line of work this kind of behaviour is not that uncommon. They tend to treat places / staff as fiefdoms I think...Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Morning all,
One thing I do know is that my boss will be leaving this time next year. It’s the way of it in this company - no site manager is allowed to stay in role for more than 3 years. We are already in an exceptional situation as he will have been with us for four years by the time he leaves. I think he is eyeing his legacy and how the next person will judge what he leaves them. Even the HR person is saying ‘this time next year ….’ 😉
I really don’t want to leave. I like the job. It’s genuinely interesting, I’m learning a huge amount, it’s stretching me to grow, it’s well paid for this area and has a good pension as well as share save scheme. Plus there are the incidentals such as the place is clean and maintained - not a given for this area; in my last job I was having to wash my mug and fill the kettle in a gents loo - not pleasant. The commute is a pain, but due to where we chose to live (rural) the best I can hope for is only 10 minutes less than now. Based on my experience of working in this area, all of the above would be a lot to give up with poor scope for finding better.@savingholmes, a typical work day for me is c. 7K steps. That’s why I was pleased to hit 10K on a day when I did spend quite a bit of time on the sofa (as evidenced by the knitting progress) 😊

Hi KK - I understand sticking with the job. Glad it has its compensations.
Hope the weather is kind enough to allow you in the garden today. I currently have a thrush, a robin and possibly a dunnock in my garden. Blackbird just showed up and a sparrow. I find watching their antics very satisfying.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Couldn’t get the washing dried outside due to the weather but did manage to get some plants in the ground - the ones I picked up on Friday on the way back from the dentist and some strips of green roof sedums that were leftovers from a work project that Mr KK brought home with him. I put the latter at the foot of the cotoneaster at the side of the drive that is south facing and very dry - they should do well there 😊Still dealing with leak - there is now a hole in the lounge ceiling where it was ponding and Mr KK has traced it to an old joint in an existing pipe under the shower tray. Apparently the stopcock is weeping too! 🙄 We currently have no water in the house 😢 Really hoping plumber comes first thing tomorrow to sort it … 🤞

Leak fixed! Plumber was shocked - the joint that was leaking was not fully soldered all the way round - we are all amazed that it has never failed before … 😳😂
Another depressing day in work thanks to ‘them that doesn’t want to be told’ …. It’s making me so very weary … 😢
Sooooo tired. Hoping for an early night tonight.
