I seem to have lost a post ….

Managed to complete the first inch of the purple lap blanket. Done the easy rows so far and left it now until tomorrow to start the more complex ones (decreasing of the honeycomb shapes) of the pattern tomorrow when I am less tired 😊

He’s not feeling any better this morning and sounds like he had a rough night …. He’s meant to be getting his hair cut at 9.30 this morning. I have asked him to test for Covid before he goes out (he’s a bit feverish).

Slept okay but only until about 4.30am when the thudding of galloping furry paws woke me up. I am having a herbal brew and the heading out into the garden to do what I can before it gets too hot to work. Hoping to scratch weed the garlic and spuds, set the sprinkler going in each of these beds and then top dress with compost. In the meantime I will make a start on the last, really bad veggie bed ….

My reward will be lunch with a friend! 😊

  • I love that colour, great work on progressing it, it's going to look brilliant (and have a cat or two sat on it as soon as you want to use it 😁)
Enjoy your lunch and gardening, though it's meant to be raining for weeks from tomorrow so don't worry too much about the sprinkler!

Thanks @PennysIntoPounds, it’s making me smile how intrigued the kittens are about knitting. Mostly they ignore me as they wander up and down the living room and crash in and out of the catio, but when I’m knitting I often find they stop to look at what I’m doing … 😉

Unfortunately, Mr KK tested positive for Covid this morning. I made him check before his haircut and seeing his mum. He’s pretty rough and he needs to get better before Thursday. Missing his dad’s funeral is NOT an option ….

Lunch with my friend was lovely, just what I needed 😊 (I did a test too and was negative this morning but did give my friend the option of cancelling. She said to carry on.) it’s been pretty warm here this afternoon so we dragged the reclining deckchairs out for the first time this year and had a doze in the garden - me mostly in the shade and him completely in the sun. Just what we both needed 😊

OH dear!  Poor Mr KK!!  I still think he's likely run down from all the recent stress.  Hopefully it will all be very mild and he'll be over it soon.  And not give it to you.

How sweet and intriguing about the cats and your knitting 😊

Bah to Mr KK having covid, as if you both need the extra worry before and about Thursday! Hope the sun time has boosted his recovery. I know it's difficult but do try to steer clear of him, is there another room where you can comfortably sleep?

Dozing in the warm garden sounds absolutely idyllic

I also downloaded the M3rlin bird app and in 5 minutes it identified:
    - blackbird
    - common chiff chaff
    - robin
    - wood pigeon
    - house sparrow
    - chaffinch
    and c. 6 others I can’t remember. Really fun 😊

I love that App.  Yesterday evening I got to 15 different bird songs.
