Thanks all, really appreciated.
I was tempted to go to bed after lunch this afternoon (I feel like I have been run over by a bus), but dragged myself out for a change of scene and context. Went down to the local garden centre for grass seed to patch the area where we lifted the big rose from the front garden yesterday and some plants for small pond at the top of the garden that we cleared the bamboo from a couple of weeks ago. One of them was Water Chestnut - haven’t ‘met’ this plant before but I like it. The pond is looking happier for having a bit more vegetation!I then spent some time clearing and tidying one of the easier flower beds to work on - didn’t make huge progress but at least I was out in the fresh air, doing something vaguely active and forward moving for an hour or so. Rain has stopped play so I have come in for a brew.Mr KK has been doing some garage tinkering - still can’t get his old BSA to start. Seems like the carburettor might have rotted out due to modern fuel? Frustrating but still good for him to ‘do’ something. We ended up ‘walking the job’ in the garden and have agreed to get someone to do the rendering job that is still outstanding on the outside of the lounge and the walls of the deck. Hopefully that will be done in the next couple of weeks - that would make a big difference to how the garden ‘feels’.Mr KK went over to see his mum this morning. I rang her as he drove over to tell her about Madame Floof - she immediately started sobbing, but at least Mr KK didn’t have to do that. She reminded him that there is acta rescue to her next door now … Don’t think we are quite ready yet! 😳
I rang my mum today and after she thanked me for the card she asked me how I was and inevitably I crumbled …. She was shocked but kind and then asked my advice about whether she should go to my aunt’s funeral or not. Overall, it seems that she shouldn’t.I have also, finally, written some words to my cousin about my aunt and my memories of her, so at least that jobs is done.Actual MSE type news: £1.84 TCB requested va PP which can sent be sent off as an OP when it lands.KKAs at 15.12.25:
