Thanks @Watty1 and @beanielou ❤️
Normal service is slowly being resumed here ….
Just sent a total of £8.45 over to OP, made up of:
- £1.84 TCB which has now landed
- £6.02 QM33 - dropped lucky with a good survey on carbon management in commercial buildings just now and I got the 3p daily question correct 😉😊
- 59p TT of the joint account after transferring the payments above 😊
Feeling like I am getting my mojo back! 😊

Did some Floof admin today - deregistered her from the vets (getting reminders for her jabs etc would have been awful). The lady was kind and has deactivated her account but kept me and Mr KK ‘live’ in case we get another cat - I actually really appreciated that kindness.Mr KK and I ‘walked the job’ this evening in the bathroom and started measuring up for the window as the first job. My bonus will help with the cost of this job as well as the savings I have been quietly tucking away for the house, meaning we won’t need to add much from ‘our pockets’ iyswim. I suspect it will take until April for the window to be delivered, so the timing will be about right 😊
In random other news, we are going to a fund raiser barn dance on Saturday night! 😂 Should be quite fun and hopefully a good distraction from recent life. (Mr KK saw his parents tonight - his dad is in more and more pain and his mum is getting scattier …. We are getting worried about what she will live on as she only has £300 pcm pension … we need to investigate what benefits she might be eligible for… but not yet …)
Sheets changed, so clean bed tonight - happy sigh …. ❤️

That's an emotional but productive day, well done both of you.
Did Floof have insurance you need to stop? Or any repeat deliveries of food or meds etc?
That's a great way to spend the bonus and squirrelled funds, a lovely bathroom is a thing of joy indeed.
I'm sorry to hear its even more worrying with Mr KK's parents. Have all the bills etc been transferred into her name? Do they own their home outright? Apologies if you said before and I've not kept track. Also, if you don't already have, it would be very worthwhile to set up LPAs so you and Mr KK can help at all stages of this journey with things like calling banks and utilities when his parents feel too overwhelmed to deal with essential practicalities. They take a wee while to get in place though so if you were wanting to I'd make it a priority admin job
Glad you have something fun and thoroughly daft to look forward to and enjoy. Looking forward to hearing all about your yeehah evening 🤠👢2 -
Well done on the life admin.

Thank you both @PennysIntoPounds, @savingholmes.
Yes, La Floof has insurance I need to cancel. I will try and do that from work today so Mr KK doesn’t overhear. No subscriptions of any kind for her, thankfully - good thinking though. As for Ps-in-law - FiL has cashed in all PBs and the funds are winging their way back to their joint account, they own their ex council house, she is on the car insurance etc. Not sure about names on utilities - will ask about that one.I don’t think either of them would be willing to consider an LPA at this stage (FiL refused to make a will until he was 88, when MiL ambushed him with a solicitor’s visit! 😂). Definitely something to discuss after the dust has settled a bit, post funeral though. My cousin has been in touch to ask me if I would be willing to do a reading at her mum’s funeral. I have said yes, but she’s left me to choose it!! 😳 Where do you start?? I have asked if she has any other readings fixed as that might guide me in what to choose. I have also asked my mother …. She is very good at this stuff, and she will feel like she is contributing.KKAs at 15.08.25:

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!1 -

possibly stating the obvious here....does FiL get attendance allowance? that might give them a bit extra to get some help occasionally.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. @Watty1, @ladybird1106, yes I slept really well last night …. 😊
Floof insurance cancelled by phone and they followed up with a lovely, kind email with a phone number for grief counselling if needed. Is it me or is it more acceptable to grieve for animals in this country in a way it’s not acceptable to grieve for people ….? 🤷♀️🤔
Mr KK has ordered the window - we just have to decide on what pattern of obscure glass we want in it. We have a brochure to choose from! 🙄😂😂 Mr KK has also got some spare keys cut for his motorbike 👏😊
Groceries shop is all sorted for tomorrow and I am just about to put first washing load on this evening, as we have a planned power cut from 9.30am to 5pm tomorrow. We are admitting defeat and going out for the day, but I still have to get my clothes washed and dried, so I will start tonight! Will also wander down to the greenhouse and collect some fresh parsley for our side salad to go with our curry meal this evening 😊 That will be added to my produce tracker 😉
Mildly frustrated as it is the 15th and our monthly mortgage payment is not showing on the account statement …. <drums fingers…>KKAs at 15.08.25:
