That's how it works here, mr redo has motorcycle buddies and trips, and I am expected to spend the same money on something I want or want to do. I much prefer that to being expected to go camping etc or trail round anymore war museums. If I had to choose, I would rather go round the museums, they are generally warmer than camping and it's easier to think about something else when you are not physically uncomfortable. My mortgage free diary: +++ Divide by Cucumber Error. Congrats on the PB win!
That's a good idea to have something to look forward to, and to make sure you don't feel your needs aren't being met too. Are you thinking- okay I really need to tell you that my phone's autofill suggested I write 'are you thinking about his sock' 😂 Baffled as to where it got that from! Or maybe you were thinking about his sock and it knew 👀
Anyway, where was I; are you thinking something soon to have something nice during the early spring grey and cold, or feeling to wait for more dependable weather to enjoy having time out/away in?3 -
Not sure …. Have looked at some art courses, will look into retreat options too.Brie said:Is there a retreat you could treat yourself to a couple of weeks after his time away?
Ah okay, so there is ‘other people precedent’ here then. That helps me justify it to myself 😊redofromstart said:That's how it works here, mr redo has motorcycle buddies and trips, and I am expected to spend the same money on something I want or want to do. Your comment about thinking about something else made me laugh - I wouldn’t get away with that! I’m expected to engage, pay attention and ask interested / interesting questions!! 🙄😂😂😂
Trust me, I was so NOT thinking about his sock! 😂😂😂😂PennysIntoPounds said:Congrats on the PB win!

I’m thinking more of something at the beginning of our staycation in last two weeks of June 😊

Feeling a bit more human after three days off, but still don’t want to go back to work tomorrow…..
Got up slowly this morning - finished reading a novel before surfacing.
Cleaned the bathroom and loo this morning - the bathroom is south facing so was very bright this morning so it got very well cleaned! 😉
After lunch, headed out to the local plant centre who have just reopened for the new season 😊 Bought a shallow bowl type pot and several alpines for it to create some interesting, not-view-blocking color on the patio. I also bought two small lavenders and have potted those up into two pots I had empty - those are also on the patio, one right next to where I sit 😉😊 I can see them from my seat on the sofa too 😊
Then had a little in the potting shed - pricked out sweet peppers, parsley and nicotiana - it always boggles me how such gallumphing plants as the latter come from such tiny seeds and seedlings 🤷♀️😉😊🌱
Have some indoor watering to do this evening - seedlings and houseplants. Other than that, i need to write and post a card to my mother for next Sunday and prep all my food for tomorrow.

What's that line...."plant lavender by your door for friendship". Well personally I'd having it (literally) blooming everywhere.
edit - nope - There's a few things I've learned in life: always throw salt over your left shoulder, keep rosemary by your garden gate, plant lavender for good luck, and fall in love whenever you can. Oh I love permitting myself to wake up and read before getting on with the day, such simple self-care and yet such a treat3

I started doing it in the winter of ‘23, so only recently. It does feel really decadent 😊PennysIntoPounds said:Oh I love permitting myself to wake up and read before getting on with the day, such simple self-care and yet such a treat
