Glad you had a relaxing day. Sorry about your mum tho. So hard watching/hearing those behaviours and knowing there is little you can do..
Made it to mortgage free but what a muddle that became

In the event the proverbial hits the fan then co-habitees are better stashing their cash than being mortgage free !!

I think the thing that worries me about my mother's bad behaviour is how much I see her in myself.  I get the impression this is not an issue for you as you have ways of coping she doesn't have.

I wonder how much of her current expression of anger is due to not having an outlet for it?  Some people like to complain, others like to control or scold their children (which she can't do sufficiently if you're not there every day).  Others go out in the garden and take out frustration with some furious pruning.  When I was going through a particularly bad patch I was fortunate to have been given an axe which I used for splitting logs.  It was great exercise as well as a wonderful way to visualise ridding myself of the nasty bits of my life.

One of my aims for 2024 is to really get to grips with the veggie patch this year. Posting here about it to hold me accountable…. 😉
