I bought toilet cleaner from a refill shop & sadly it is not up to the job.
I will report back on whether I find the Birtwhistle concoction for toilets effective 😊

  • Your move 4 years ago sounds exhausting!
I have started on the minimalist game again though all my travel is not helping
However you have reminded me I do need to declutter a lot - my serious collection of shoes need to be slimmed down to those I love and wear - I have maybe 20 pairs that have not been worn ever or I don’t really like them - I need to get on Vinted
plus one of my wardrobes is full of clothes that I wear maybe 10% .. I need to be brave - some is old style stuff or office wear I don’t really wear

I do know I don’t need to be dragging old stuff to a new apartment

    your garden looks v promising

@skint_spic, @beanielou, you mean those creatures that don’t really need and are far superior to Hoomans ….? 🙄😉😂😂😂😂❤️

My cat failed to get this memo, obviously she feels superior but likes to be with me at all times. She occasionally goes out for a walk but only ventures about four houses away at most these days usually visiting neighbours along the way😂 fourth house has children in it so she loves them and vice versa, they have a dog but she just ignores him😂

As for the toilet cleaner…I can’t remember if it is a lab environment where you work but if so a squoosy bottle like the ones used for deionised water might work for toilet cleaning, usually quite small but you could refill…

@beanielou loving that word ‘squoosy’ - brilliant! 😂😊❤️

Our cat varies between being omnipresent aka nosey and aloof, ‘Don’t touch. Me!’ 🤷‍♀️❤️😂
I think she is getting more trusting and interested in us as she gets older 😊

@LadyWithAPlan - it was genuinely horrid, for all kinds of reasons. I wanted to be excited and happy about our new home but I was almost hysterical with fatigue and Mr KK was sliding into a kind of exhausted depression. We both, never, ever, ever want to move again! Hence why we are working so hard now, with our small budget, to make the most of what we have. 😉😊

Ah yes - I had forgotten the joys of moving especially as every time I move i gain more stuff -  now I have a full 2 bed flat inc furniture, washing machine, fridge freezer, oven to move next time. ... it cost a fortune last time - but having stuff on storage is another layer of hell I cant imagine - though I did do it for 9 months - stuff in my parents garage - never again... At least you can be happy and not get into 'i want a bigger house, with a bigger  mortgage'

@LadyWithAPlan, it is definitely worth considering how you will approach it. Decluttering is a good place to start, but could you gain access to drop some stuff off before official moving date? We couldn’t even though we were obliged to insure the property from the date of exchange - never understood that and that was an extra circle of admin and cost due to the never-ending-gift of JKW. Also think about who could help. As well as packing and moving you will also want to clean at both ends of the move and I would run your tenancy on for a week beyond moving date to give you that time to clear down and clean to get your deposit back (I did that and I was soooo glad that I did!).

In the meantime, how is the transcription going ….? 🤔😊

I have yet to buy the place I want - still thinking on putting an offer in the cheaper flat thats dark but lovely little garden and freehold, so my declutter is all about getting prepped and minimising for when I do move. No rush but think a daily declutter - eg minimalism game seems to help. I will no doubt be doing a longer tenancy for cleaning and probably painting ..
I have so much stuff (2 bed flat inc all kitchen white goods) that I will need prof movers

Transcription not moving -although I did think about it this morning -  been travelling a lot for a short term contract  - and then it takes a moment to resettle and then off again - so was in Europe 5 days last week, in London for 2 days, then out London for family thing - so thats 5 days here, then back to London tomorrow and maybe leave for the US at the weekend/Monday for a week...  maybe try to extend for a couple days for a personal break as never been to Nashville or New Orleans so might fly there after - although I am normally in Miami in Jan for work which is nearer to both though weather not as good. I love to travel especially paid by someone else ;) but it does leave home stuff unsorted.

@LadyWithAPlan, ah, well you’ve been busy. It will keep I’m sure 😊

FWP - need to think of what to wear on Saturday night when I go out for dinner with Mr KK (he is treating me for my birthday on Monday - having already added to my compost bins  😊). My black jeans seem to have got some bleach or similar on them and I rarely wear anything else to go out in …. Don’t want to spend money …. Will have to ferret through my wardrobe for something he won’t be embarrassed to see me in - when not in work my taste tends towards the flowing / slightly hippy which excruciates Mr KK 😉😂

Finally, after several weeks have reached enough points to cash out £20 on Pr1me opinion so have sent that off as an OP 😊 (appeared in PP immediately 👏👍).
Refund of £39.20 has appeared in my account from Lands Stop so that offsets the £4.90 return cost.

Steady progress being made on the living room. The additional two windows have arrived and Mr KK has been drilling the walls to mark out where he will be making the openings. He’s taking Friday off with the intention of finishing the surround stonework for fireplace and then we will, finally(!), be able to put the mantlepiece in place 😊❤️

Mr Redo is still cross that some years ago I used Milton instead of distilled water in the steam press  on his black Levi's and it bleached sixteen lovely pink spots 🤣🫣
