Update on La Belle Floof 😊
Madame Fussiness has designed to drink water from one of my best bowls (nice open wide top so it wouldn’t interfere with her whiskers) - special water butt vintage so it had no chlorine in it.She has also eaten, or rather licked up some salmon Lickeelix that the vet sent us home with and eaten some treats. Perhaps the adrenaline shock of being manhandled into the catbox, the car journey to the vet and then the utter humiliation of being prodded about (we were NOT willing to allow and resisted determinedly the insertion of a thermometer!) as well as the return process, was enough to shock her into thinking that eating might actually be a good idea?I’m actually really pleased that she is showing some interest in food again (when a cat won’t eat Dr3amies the world is very odd for me!) and is drinking, as normally we don’t put water down for her. I might continue that as a habit actually. She is currently spark out on the living room floor, displaying her best toebeans! ❤️😉KKAs at 15.07.25:

Glad to hear Madame is doing better, sometimes it genuinely is that the adrenaline fools them into thinking they're better if it's just a bit of a bleugh thing.
I can sympathise with the crafty stuff that sits in the back of the cupboard for years. My next project is a cross stitch that was given to me by my grandma, who died 10 years agoStart mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056

I love the tapestry!
My sympathies with the cat, mine likes only one type of food (nothing special) and it’s a nightmare when there is none on the supermarket shelf😫 she would eat those cat yogurt things til they come out of her ears though.

Enjoy the tapestry. I think I recently binned one of mine that was 90% done when I realised I didn't have anywhere to put in anyway and it had sat for 3-4 years doing nothing so what was suddenly going to change.
Sorry about your aunt. Really sad situation. Hope your cousin manages to step back - and you too.
Good you had some greater clarity on work. Sounds like most bosses TBH - and sometimes I can be more naive than I seem - so sometimes they prove right about people I'd have paid more to.
Enjoy the rest of your holiday.
I think with the counselling - I'd make sure that you get to talk about what you want - rather than necessarily taking direction from the counsellor. I'm very into the unconditional positive regard style of counselling which is person led rather than the more directive CBT style which can be too tick list orientated and not actually meet my needs. The other thing I'd say - is although you seem a high flier - it sounds like there are underlying issues that longer term counselling may help you address. I love B Brown - the first book of hers that talks about imperfection in particular - but as you listen to her over time (and on utube too) you realise how resistant she was to counselling initially - but over time realised there were more layers she needed to unpick and resolve. I am a much better parent, worker, and self-care giver etc now I am getting more of my own needs met through counselling support etc. Just a thought. As you can imagine - top on my list for a counsellor is black sense of humour... Some take themselves far too seriously... I'll leave that thought with you - feel free to ignore me.Achieve FIRE/Mortgage Neutrality in 2030

Thanks for the thoughtful reply @savingholmes ❤️
I have a number of large tapestries that I have finished but not done anything with. I should get them stretched and framed really, but there is time for that and they aren’t eating anything atm 😉
I have had counselling before, many years ago and it certainly helped. I just don’t have the spare cash to be able to afford anything like that on a regular basis atm. The sessions I am having atm are paid for by work. Yes, there are underlying issues I am challenged with and I think I have greater clarity, thanks to recent events, about what they are. For me that is always the first step in unpicking things …

Pretty bad night - slept from 10pm until 1am and then was awake until 4am when I took more tablets - sigh. I don’t know how I am functioning tbh with this little sleep. Don’t think I have had a full night’s sleep in six nights now …. 😢🥱I have stripped the bed and washed all the linen as it really did feel like a ‘sick bed’ - am hoping having fresh linen will make me feel cooler and I won’t put the duvet back in the cover tonight, I will just sleep under the cover (I don’t feel safe without something over me) and have the duvet to one side if I get chilly.Washed up two days worth of pots first thing this morning - it was just too hot and we were too tired last night! Mr KK was pleased when he came down and it was all done 😊
Also taken out two of the heavy rubber backed mats we have for wiping feet as we come in, and given them a good scrub in the garden. They are drip drying atm - I will move them into the sun later when they are less heavy! There is a third one left to do but that can wait until Saturday.Meeting a friend for coffee later this morning. 🤩 (Me, having a social life! 🥳🎉) Just off to sweep down the conservatory now that I have cooled off in front of my fan again 😊

The smaller of the two mats has dried well and is back in the living room in front of the patio doors - Mr KK added some stays this morning, in brass to match the handles, to stop the doors slamming about. 😊
The larger mat from the conservatory, is still pretty damp/wet atm, so I have contented myself with lugging it over the chair I put the laundry basket on (so I don’t have to been to the ground when putting the washing out or bringing it in). The chair is angled right at the sun now, so I am hoping with that and the fact that the mat is off the ground now, so should have a bit more air circulation, it will dry before this evening.Bedding is dry, in and back on the bed. Duvet is confused and concertina’d on the edge of the bed for pulling over me, on top of the cover if needed during the night. The conservatory is looking a bit better but there is masses more to do in there. One thing I am realising is that there is either too much stuff in there or it is badly arranged, or both, as it is always a nightmare to tidy or clean. I think the next job, once the sun comes off it completely, is to clear the little table in there of various variousnesses!Saw my friend - had tea and a tea cake which she sneakily paid for, for me 😊 As I got there she was taking a call from a head hunter about a role which sounds right up her street - I think she’d be brilliant. Crossing my fingers for her 😊 We met at a very nice garden centre and NEITHER of us bought any plants!!! 🎉👏🤩Mr KK has taken the Jeep out for a run over to his parents. I was excused due to still being a hot bed of germs! 😉 (I felt not too bad this morning, but the headache this afternoon nothing is touching! I suspect the humidity isn’t helping.)
We do need to do a food list and online shop tonight for Saturday’s delivery, as we will be out all day tomorrow (heading over to Hay) and then out for dinner tomorrow night 😊❤️
