Calmer day in work after a manic three days, mopping up a load of stuff that was drifting a bit because outside of the big project activity. Helped Italian boss with getting his point across when no-one seemed to be understanding him in a global collaboration call - he’s on holiday after tomorrow and it was becoming increasingly obvious he needs it 😉, so I stepped in to facilitate.Should be a really quiet day tomorrow as my boss is off along with lots of other people. Hoping to get all my team’s 1:1s written up and some PDA prep done too. This evening we have brought in a new bookcase Mr KK found on FBMP for £10 and got that upstairs (this always involves major activity - taking down the banister and newel post) to the spare room, ready for me to load my craft and art books into! 😊 ❤️🤩 I am too shattered to do much more tonight, but I will give it a wipe down so I can start loading it tomorrow evening 😊

I ‘liberated’ £25 cash from our wall safe last night - this came from selling a mirror when we were rearranging the snug and swopping sideboards earlier in the year and had been labelled as “Spare room refurb” so it is legitimate that I use it now.Paid Mr KK back for the bookcase - he didn’t want it as it meant I was paying half for the new set of screwdriver heads he bought on account from the builders merchants (in the midst of the materials we have been buying for the lounge project) which he will then use for work not just the latest project, but it seemed fair to me to pay him back as he had a) paid for it, b) found it and c) collected it for me in the midst of an already busy day! 😊KKAs at 15.08.25:

Like many places today, it is wet here, so all plans are pretty much indoor based.Library this morning, followed by a trip to the local builder’s merchant to choose paint for the inside of the wardrobe that will be the crafting cupboard - I’m thinking a really zingy, sherbetty type colour, so when the doors are closed it just looks like a wardrobe, but then when you open the door you get a cheerful burst of summer colour that will lift me in the winter. On a practical level, it needs to be light enough to brighten the inside of the cupboard…. 🤔 I also need some ‘D’ handles for it - brass like / coloured as that will tone with my actual wardrobe in the room! 😊Mr KK is unimpressed with the weather, so will be sanding the inside faces of this wardrobe (it is in kit form atm!) and white-undercoating it today, with the intention of getting it fully painted by the end of the weekend, upstairs and assembled sometime this coming week! 😳🤩Whilst Mr KK is painting today, I will be starting The Great Book Shuffle ….(I am so excited about this! 😂)

I know this sounds eye poppingly bright, but it will be behind closed doors 95% of the time and when I do open it the brightness will be cheering and energising ❤️ The guy in the builders’ merchant was kind and made up three sample pots of paint, so I had 750ml of paint rather than a full litre - that saved me c. £6. 😊Also found some chunky brass ‘D’ handles to go on the outside.Library trip completed and currently sat on the sofa with a brew 😊

Made soup for lunch with the scrag end of a cauliflower including the stalk, a small onion, a sad stick of celery, a small spud, a stock cube and some dried rosemary. Blitzed it and then finished it off with juice from an extremely wizened lemon, a tablespoon and a half of activated yeast and a portion of precooked farro wheat. It was very good! I certainly went a bit heavy with the lemon juice but definitely one to repeat 😊 No UPF, food waste averted and a portion left for my work lunch on Monday 👍

Done all my financial updates and as you might expect at mid month there’s not a lot to report.Food is at 59% of budget at half way though the pay cycle which is slightly over budget, but we’ve done some stocking up / buying for a batch for Mr KK (lamb steaks) so I am hoping we will be able to keep it down to overall target for the rest of the month.Requested £5.53 from TBC that has just appeared in that account - that will take a few days to reach my PayFriend account and once it does it will be an OP. 😊Also requested a refund on the expensive shampoo and conditioner that I bought a couple of weeks ago as it does not do what it says it would …. Sadly. 😢Moving books around (oh dear, our stairs are steep!) but I think more categories will have to be stored in the spare room than I thought as I actually don’t have that many craft books but I do have a lot of gardening books that need space …. Ahem ….
The good thing is I have lots of books that have surfaced that I either haven’t read at all or would like to reread 😊👍
