    Evening all,

So I've now left Sainsburys. I enjoyed working there but it's mentally draining me now getting up so early to work both jobs. So I've handed my notice in today.

Hi Jade, it served it’s purpose you were able to pay off some debt with the extra income. Now life should be a bit easier for you. Do you have a notice period or it that it finish completely.

    Hi Jade,

It is incredibly difficult anyway having to get up right at the point where your body is conditioned to have REM deep sleep...let alone do that job and another on top full time.
If you remember my post, I too was getting in for 1am and working through til 7am, going home then getting ready for my full time job which was 9-5 at the time (post 1st lockdown). I stuck at it for 6 months because a) I felt obliged to continue to support in such a challenging time for them and b) the uncertainty of furlough etc.

You may find that you could go back in for Xmas for say 6 weeks just as a top up but in reality it sounds like you’re doing YOU a favour. Whilst repaying your debt is important and I am in no doubt that you will be clear of this very soon, your own health (physical AND mental) must always come first!

hopefully you’ll get holiday back pay, so you can put another chunk towards the debt. I am assuming you are building a separate pot in the hopes that 118 will consider another F&F as your debt total hasn’t decreased for a few months?
If you believe you can, you will. If you believe you can't, you won't.

    Secured/Unsecured loans x 1
    Credit Cards x 8 (total limit £55,050)
Creation FS Retail Account x 1
    Creation Credit Sale 0% x 1 = £112.50pm x 20 mths
    0% Overdraft x 1 (£0 / £250)
    Mortgage Outstanding - £137,707.00 (Payment 13/360)
    Total Debt = £7,400 (0%APR) @ £100pm - Stoozing

Yes I remember your previous post. I agree it is challenging. That's like me currently I feel obliged to do it even though in my head I've already left the job.

I do have a little savings pot for my debt just incase I can pay off in one sum. The issue with the debt I have with 118 is they sold it to IMFS recently but the balance isn't correct so I've told them I'm not paying anything until they have the correct balance sorted. This was on June 26th and they put me on breathing space for 30 days. Hence why the debt hasn't been reduced yet.

You're supposed to work some shifts but it does state if it's mentally/physically affected you that you can leave asap

  • I think this is a good decision. You’ve done so much towards paying off your debts, you need to look after your mental and physical well-being x

@BlueJ94 well done for managing your health.  If you burn out, it will only slow down or stop debt reduction anyway but in any case, we are all human first.  You're doing brilliantly.  Onwards and upwards love Humdinger xx
