Yeah he’s mentioned it before but not to this extent, he told us it was a bit crappy a few months back and was hoping things would get better and then at the beginning of this week he was just like nope it’s crap I’m gonna make people redundant. My main issue is last time it was just me and the girl I work with it was very stressful in the warehouse, it was to the point where I didn’t want to come here. 

Oh that sucks!

Hi Jade, 

it sounds like your company is either a small company with a few branches or just the one branch and family owned?

If I was in your situation, I’d string it out for as long as I could, keeping one eye on job opportunities and the other on my work in the hopes that they’ll have to make you redundant and therefore you get a payout.

Hopefully things improve.

It’s a small business owned by one person who only has one unit. Well, I logged into indeed to see what’s going and I’ve had 3 requests for my CV already today. One with more pay and less hours!

Yep! I’m torn what to do currently. Do I just look for somewhere else or just stay where I am now knowing business isn’t great and always worrying about being made redundant. It’s hard to decide, but going back to what you said last night. I have to focus on myself. If I do go for somewhere else I have to give 5 weeks notice anyway. So I wouldn’t be loosing much money.

Certainly don’t make any snap decisions. Depending on your age and length of continuous employment with the company, you could be in line for a reasonable redundancy payment, he would legally have to give you a minimum 30 days notice for this.

Thanks @MrFrugalFever I’ll keep that in mind. Also, if possible when I do start looking for a job I’m hoping to look for somewhere a little closer. Currently it’s 32 miles there and back which isn’t bad but when stuck in traffic it can take over an hour to get there.

in other news. I’ve done nothing today besides eat some cake and drink tea.

Morning all,

so my mam donated me a frozen chicken last night as she had a deal of 5 for £10 so todays lunch is chicken dinner with home made roasties, home made yorkies and veg! I’m also going to pop out to grab some ingredients for malteaser brownies. Then the rest of my day I plan on just cleaning up, OH has gone out for most of the day so nice and quiet haha!

So I checked my IMFS account this is who has bought my debt from C.A.R.S about my 118 debt and I have now set up a payment plan with them at £50 per month just to get the debt shifted. I will pay them for a few months and then offer a settlement to see what they agree on.
