It will soon become second nature with the cash envelopes.

Great deal on the jumping! We don't have one local to us so it's always a trip.

I find the bigger the push you make at the beginning - the more incentive it gives you to carry on. Even if you occasionally slip and slide - you know how to get going again and you get an idea of what tricks and tips work for you.

  • Morning all,

    I am hoping so @Naomim @savingholmes.

OH payday yesterday budget complete and all bills (minus 3dd paid) he is on board and taking £30 personal money until payday. I will be taking £15pw..we have £62 a week food shop for the next two weeks so will be planning that out this afternoon and heading to a$da tonight. There’s an extra 10% off groceries in store until 31st Dec with the blue light card, I prefer the meat there than anywhere else round here and don’t think there too bad on pricing now they price match. Oh

Two more things on v1nt€d sold 🥳 so posting those today, had £8 back from work for a receipt so I’ll be leaving that in my acc until next Friday then paying off the CC.

Have a good day all 😊

Definitely.  I know more now about my triggers.  Not necessarily for spending but certainly sticking my head in the sand and being able to pick myself up quicker.

  • Having looked over lots of our statements. I think the biggest trigger for us is eating and Christmas…this makes up a large amount of our debt and probably holidays we couldn’t really afford.

I am starting the 1-50 envelope challenge, once complete it should be over £1000 so will make up our complete Christmas budget so really going to give that a good go this year. So far I have filled number 4 😂🥳

Food shop complete for the week, managed to get loads this week we did have the blue light card and a$da are offering 10% discount in store so it was over my initial weekly budget but afterwards came out at £64.00 which was just under target 😁 we have a chicken curry cooking and this week looks like pasta and meatballs, sausage caserole, gammon, beef casserole and breaded chicken and veggies etc ..plenty of rice pasta potatoes and veg to bulk out. Loads of fruit for the week and snacks etc so really pleased today.

OH got a little more than expected in his wage on Friday so took us all bowling today for a treat, we budgeted £40 and stuck to it, even though it did mean me and OH not having fried chicken with the kids after.

Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend; I’m off to a comedy show tomorrow night with my mum so really looking forward to it 😊

  • Aggh forgot the Blue Light discount had been extended in Asda, DH popped in our local store earlier 🤦 thankfully only around a £17 spend but that could've been £1.70 saved 😬

    Enjoy the show tomorrow x
  • It’s until the end of the month so plenty of time to make use @DancingInTheRain 😁

comedy show was absolutely fantastic and not a penny spent, took a bag of sweets with me and mum paid for drinks as I drove. The parking was £1.50 which she paid too 😁

Things are going well with money nothing spent on dinners at work, takeaways or shopping still but we do need more cat food…I have £140 budgeted for next week and still have my envelopes full for EF, birthdays etc..nothing new added to v1nted yet but another £5 cleared today…one week to go exactly until payday so looking promising !

    Morning All,

Kicking myself a little today as I have just registered for Tax-free childcare, for anyone who doesn't know (It may have just been me  :s ) If you don't claim working tax or UC etc but pay childcare...you can register for TFC where for every £8 you pay into your account, its topped up by £2's....So you can save up-to £2k per child, each year!!!

I have just emailed our after school club and they are already registered - No bloody idea why they hadn't told me about it then? But my £280 this month just became £225 (If I have worked that out right lol) Hope it helps someone out there!

Slow day today, Working in the office and have brought soup with me, Beef Caserole for tea tonight! x
