They do it because they know lesser people would panic and pay, or ignore it and get a CCJ which means they could have sent bailiffs round.  Loads of consumers get that outcome or just ring up and beg to pay it off, sadly.

You fighting and pushing back is not what they were after!  They can still discontinue, they often do.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Both N180 forms sent now to court and dcb, i got proof of sending from post office just incase anything goes missing, i would like to say thankyou to you all for your help in this matter especially  Redx, poor man i seem to have driven him crazy, lol, not intentional of course, lol, one good thing we came up with, if as being said, potentially if we have to pay the 2×£100 tickets and the £120 costs dcb have paid total of £320 and not the ridiculous add ons they have added, what is the use of them pursuing us to court, they already i assume paid the court costs, they have to send a representative to Great Yarmouth court, his/her time and fuel or train fare shall we say £200 for the day, so if they win and i have to pay the £320, £200 and their costs back £120, what have they gained? They are a legal firm and probably deal with these parking notices day in and day out, so they must be aware judges can and do stop them from trying to squeeze these extra payments from people in court as an abuse of process, anyway that would be nice if it went that way, but we shall see sometime down the line, thankyou
You are quite right , it doesn't make financial sense , not to you , not to us , so it's the frighteners aspect mentioned by coupon mad , the who blinks first game. The financial side you eloquently mention only comes into play if it gets to hearing day and a hired gun is employed to attend court or be in an office on the day of the hearing !

Bear in mind most cases are by telephone or video link so easier for them as they could be anywhere , no travelling involved ! Their rep could be in London or Manchester , not Great Yarmouth , sat with a laptop and phone !

Hi, i received an email this morning saying my mp was still waiting to hear from dcb and ukpc, then soon after that this came from dcb, seems they are saying Abuse of process cannot be used regarding added costs, also looks like they are saying going to proceed and try to make it look like we have no chance in court, but i am sure you guys will have comments to make about that, many thanks

Just keep playing the game. Nothing they've said above changes anything.
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

Also i categorically deny i EVER received any such notices on the dates they specify, when we returned home on the 1st. October 2016  there were no notices regarding any parking tickets, the first we heard was 5 years 4 months later when dcb sent a letter demanding we pay £320 for 2 pcn's which i believe was the 12th. October 2021

And your MP will be waiting forever unless you take heed of this...

Receipt is still irrelevant , it's whether they posted them to the address listed on the DVLA database that counts , proof of postage , not proof of receipt
