You have hit the nail on the head

if we had all listened to the doom and gloom property crash bods for the last decade what a mess we would all be in

things are tough agreed but a few thousand read this topic(hpc) on this site that leaves a good 59.9 million plus who dont give a monkeys

unless you have got to move or want to opt of the uk market property prices are meaningless to the average joe

or if you dont have the courage to get on the ladder ( like the hpc brigade) then of course there will be a vested interest
I found my eutopia tee hee I live in canada yeehaa!

It's a pity that after such a good opening post, DreamBreaker has lowered himself to the shallow standards of worrypants. No better than those you came here to criticize. You both belong in the wind-up merchants bin.

I don't think worrypants is very nice! It is one thing to have bullish stance on property- fine. But who starts a thread topic with "up yours"! Weird.

edit: Human nature is to actually want people like this to suffer. People who are not gracious, not humble, and not modest.

I will buy a house when I work out where I want to live.
Oh ... and I need a job to work out where I need to live.

    So, ticklist:
    1] Get a job
2] Stay in it long enough to realise it's long-term (more than a year without them going bankrupt/selling/downsizing)
3] Look around and see areas I can reach that job from, preferably by public transport
4] Find an actual house I like

    Could be years then ...

I am trying to have a debate with these people but it appears my side of the argument is not something they want to hear. My side of the argument shatters the illusion they want to live under in these forums. I feel for many people who are desperate to get on the property ladder. BUT moaning about it on here is not helping them, they need to get out there, make some money and make it happen instead of hoping to the detriment of the wider ecconomy that the housing market collapses. What many don't realise is that if that happens the whole ecconomy may collapse, unemployment will rise and many of those hoping for the falls may still not be able to afford to get on the ladder, simply becasue they may have lost their job, interest rates start flying up, etc, etc.

It would be lovely if we could all have the same, all be equal! Unfortunatley Communisim did not work, it failed miserabley, why? because people are greedy by nature and will do anything to make themselves better off even at the exspense of others! Wishing for massive falls in property prices so they can get on the ladder is just an example, we ALL as humans are pretty evil sometimes!

Your misunderstanding me, I don;t not agree completely with what worry pants is saying, I often agree with many of you on the other side of the argument, I have thanked many of you if you care to look. I don't agree with how worry pants is trying to wind you all up to be honest and his points can come across a little agressvely. However, so do many of yours and others so perhaps people have read these forums and got a little tired and sick of those agressive, immature, bullying people on here and are only responding in the same nature.

I simply want a fair debate and not to be nastily attacked for my opinions just becasue I don't agree with yours!

**Yours does not mean you personally, it means the group of people who foresee a property crash!

With respect to this what you should be aware of is that for a large section of the British populous this may as well happen for all the difference it will make to them. Effectively the economy is already broken.

There are a very large number of, mostly youngish people who thanks to Gordons Miracle economy have no tangible stake in the society they live in,, and no hope of ever having one. Apart from the ability to borrow credit that they will spend the rest of their lives paying off to buy the odd holiday, a flash tv, and a crippling mortgage on a one bed flat you cant raise kids in, many people are looking at a lifetime of being forced work ever longer hours, in ever less secure jobs in order to pay ever higher taxes to support older people who are already well off comparatively, and having to arrange ever riskier geared investments to obtain something (housing) our dads bought for 3 times their annual incomes.
