arssed, you're boring me now.0 -
so you freely admit that property here is not value for money, so the property you sold is probably not value for money. Well done, you found yourself some mug willing to take on the negative equity you have set up for them ... more fool them i suppose
Exactly :T:T:T
Much of london and the south easts housing market has been built over the last 3 years the whole premise that "along comes a bigger mug" be that in the form of a buyer or a lender. I thought that was one common thought here on the property board
I got out when the money was for the taking as has worrypants. So shoot me!! Im more stable than I was then as I didnt have the liability of a mortgage I didnt want, and was pretty crap value for money.
Surely thats what MSE is all about!!!
In situations like this I think to myself " what would martin do" :A My guess is that he would have sold the place, took the money and ran like the wind, and had a big smile on his face whilst dealing with the relief. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.
Theres no dollar sign on piece of mind
This Ive come to know...
So if you agree have a drink with me, raise your glasses for a toast :beer:0 -

Think this is one of your better posts.
HPI rescued you as it got you out of debt, you sold at the right time.
Don't forget the other side to all this, you no longer have the stability a home that's yours gives you.
I nearly suffered this recently when the house i'm renting was nearly sold from under us.0 -

My feeling is owning a house OUTRIGHT is the only stability. Otherwise one is always subject to the vagaries of lenders & their employment status. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Too right! As I'm sure anyone who had to review their mortgage just after unexpectedly being made redundant or after interest rates doubled last time round will agree... Though at least with a mortgage you don't suddenly get two months' notice to move on.0 -
bought a house for £30k in 1979 sold it last year for £880k beat that :rotfl:
My dear dad bouight Victorian wreck part-full of tenants for £4k in 1963...he had something called a "private mortgage"(? )and paid the previous owner a monthly ammount out of the rent received.
Next door just sold for £1.4 million needing full renovation....my dads would be considered to be in a "needs modernising" condition.
Nice bit of inheritance tax coming Gordons way someday...his generation believe in "paying their dues".0 -

immigration on a collosal scale plus we let absolutlely anybody in( whoops to jump through to get into canada are enormous)
I love this kind of statement! "I hate immigration. So I'm going to become an immigrant".:rotfl:...much enquiry having been made concerning a gentleman, who had quitted a company where Johnson was, and no information being obtained; at last Johnson observed, that 'he did not care to speak ill of any man behind his back, but he believed the gentleman was an attorney'.0 -
yes I will be an immigrant but a totally self supporting financially independant without a criminal record and with an eduacation
with private health care
this means I will never be burden on my new country, will not take their jobs, will not use their health care, will not be a danger to anyone.
I will pay tax in my new country, I will boost the local economy and will provide work for locals
I will buy a home to live in plus another historical property to renovate in a rural area adding value to that area
I will transfer my investments to my new country
my first language is that of my new country
I will also be doing voluntary community work and so will my husband, I have skills and experience which I will give freely
If the ilegal immigrants flooding the UK fulfilled all of the above I doubt anyone would ever complainI found my eutopia tee hee I live in canada yeehaa!0 -
illegal immiegrants by thier nature cannot pay tax. So your thinking is slightly flawed. Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? Not where you live, the car you drive or the price tag on your clothes.

Hear hear, the problem you will have on this forum is that you will probably be able to get on the boat that these people already missed and unfortunately they are bitter about it!
Good Luck:beer:0
