Got out some stewing beef today (huge chunks but cut up before cooking!) and made beef bourguignon for dinner tonight.  There's enough leftover so rather than freezing it we'll have that Monday night, as we're out to a friend's for dinner tomorrow.

The freezer has somehow become choc a bloc again in the last ten days or so but I'm not sure how. We've finished up some frozen fish and bacon and added half a pack of liver, cooked gammon, some peas and some fishcakes. What all the rest was, I don't know.

Bought a chicken today which we'll cook tomorrow and probably have a day of roast and a day of pasta from it. It's a small one but if there are leftovers it may be chicken pie time. I've also bought tea bags and some tins of pineapple which I can't get at that price near to home but found in the next town. I did quite well from L!dl's discounts so we have been eating bakery items rather too much. Other than those it's been fruit and store cupboard staples and maple syrup which I didn't need but had a voucher for.

@Cherryfudge i was standing in L1dl this morning with a pack of nuts and chocolates cookies in my basket because i had a voucher and then decided, nah, don't  need it and don't even like chocolates! And ms C still got biscuits from last shopping. Felt quite proud of myself for saying no.
If i had one for maple syrup, might have gotten it though
Out: handful of sweetcorn, chopped celery, tin tuna, pasta, opened the jar of cornichons, all for pasta dinner for work tonight.

Well done! It's not a bargain if it's neither a want nor a need. :) I wonder whether we all get the same offers? This week I have cookies, salted nuts, deluxe bacon, pizzas and of course the evening discount on bakery items, so it sounds as though we do.

Yesterday's bargain chicken was delicious: it was a cook in the bag one with herbs, the tastiest I've had in a long time. There's a lot of meat left over and nothing used up so guess what we'll be having for a couple more meals this week?

Ahem! I have er... succumbed to the voucher for biscuits as I have friends coming round tomorrow. There may just be more biscuits than we'll eat at one sitting but they aren't being stored in the kitchen so I will be a little less tempted.

In: biscuits, chorizo, fruit and veg, bread, milk.
Out: some of the chicken and chorizo and bits of other things that go in that dish.
