    Hi All

I just received an email from DCB Legal (see below) where they are asking me to pay £165 for settling the case. I obviously do not want to do that.

What should I do now? Reply saying I want to proceed with the claim and waiting for their WS or should I ignore the email altogether?

    Thanks

    Ignore that email.

We see similar emails often and usually they are followed in a few days by a discontinuance.

Read the last few posts in the following thread. Your case seems to be following a similar (and increasingly familiar) route. Not long now I expect!

Just received this in the post. How often do they reinstate the claim? Is it safe to assume that this matter is now over?

As per the notice dated XX May 2022, the Claimant in this matter was due to pay a hearing fee to the court by XX Aug 2022.
As we did not receive this fee by this deadline, please note that the Claimant's claim has been struck out and the hearing on X date 2022 vacated.
It is recommended that you do not discard any paperwork as the Claimant is at liberty to apply to reinstate the claim.

Reinstate (I think) means File a new claim? AFAIK if a claim is struck out then it is dead.

DCBLegal won't pay to reinstate a case they were about to discontinue anyway!

I'd say this is effectively a discontinuance and could be added to @Umkomaas' thread of cases that prove DCBLegal are operating a model with - apparently - no intention of enforcing PCNs (not even disabled bay cases) in court.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
