Shocking electricity meter reading

Thank you all for your replies. I will definitely, let you know how we get on. Not expecting them to be overly understanding about the situation but appreciate your help.1

Hi all
managed to dig out previous readings, appreciate we have worked out what may be wrong but wanted to follow up on this since it was requested
12.07.2021- 17767
13.092021- 18420
23.09.2021- 188231 -
40 kWh/day is rather a lot for the second period. Did you mean 23/10/21?

The one dated 13.09.21 is the reading on our bill which we had submitted and 23.09.2021 is a picture of the meter, which is in the first few posts in thread.0

So readings are more likely:
12/07/2021 17767
13/09/2021 18420
23/09/2021 0189.232 (as per your photo - remember the decimal point, this is the important bit!)
So it looks as if the meter went haywire at some point between 13/09 and 23/09. That said, your use appears to be around 10kWh per day, so 189 kWh should be 18 days which doesn't really fit with the dates and reads (assuming the meter reset to zero)0 -

Thanks for this. We have noticed that we submit as 0189232, but our bill appears 189232.So this would seem to be in line with previous figures. It is our current reading that baffles us of 1193.1370

189232 cannot be right. As the meter is only 6 years old that would imply 30,000 kWh a year !
Is there a card by the meter with the new readings on it ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0 -
Cannot find a card next to the meter0

As I said, that type of meter was almost invariably set up with 5 integers. I would be suspicious of the 6 integer readings, although different suppliers can set up the meters differently, it usually only affected the number of decimal places. The only 7 integer domestic meter is the Liberty Secure range.
