Fayolle yes there was definitely a fluffy mule moment going on there!!
But seriously there is something in breaking this flying lark down into small chunks, and often getting started is the hard bit.
Still plodding on at the paid stuff, I am under a bit of time pressure to get stuff done which is a good thing as I am not motivated. WFH today and tomorrow so exercise class next, shower, breakfast, then on some work.
I am working to my own lists this week (well actually I am ignoring my lists) but will squeeze in a bit of flying today. We have stuck to our mealplan this week which is good but there are still bits of food, drink, and presents in various places that need decluttering.
Have a good Thursday all x

Morning all. Brrrr! It's freezing! Pigpen, I totally get what you're saying about Twinkle not being able to work if she's cold - my body shuts down too when the temperature drops.
Drumroll please: I cleaned my shower plughole last night - yuck!
Today I must
- do the quarterly Gift Aid claim
- take down the cards, holly and tree, decluttering no-longer-used decorations as I go (even if they have to go back in the loft in a Donate box until September - in which case I will put a note in my diary). We'll keep the outside lights up until DH's birthday, if he still wants them
- dust and vacuum the LR
- go to the CS
- take DH's summer quilt to the cleaners, as it won't fit in my WM
- buy F&V
- order a baby gift
- send some emails and make some phonecalls
- sort some papers
Good luck with knitting the leg warmers, Fayolle. One round on University Challenge this week was about knitting pattern abbreviations (find it here on iPlayer at 08:30) - the brilliant students from Imperial College didn't do very well on that one
Better get started - though first I'll go and make myself another cuppa (I drank the first one whilst reading in bed until the heating came on).
Hope everyone has a good day. Keep warm xxx

A very cold start here too although it's lovely to see the sun starting to come up.
Yesterday afternoon I sorted through a pile of old teaching stuff which has now gone, a few more bits from the kitchen cupboards too. I need to make space to put my bread machine away as OH finds it an eyesore on top of the kitchen cupboards, I don't use it much but not sure I want it to go yet.
Bed made, clothes picked up and windows opened and closed
DW sorted, WU put away, kitchen tidy
Cats trays done
House hoovered until it ran out of battery, just dining room left to do.
I have another agent coming to see house this morning and one coming back this afternoon with a value.
Also need to sort out car insurance as hope to pick up new car tomorrow.

Afternoon lovelies
It is bitingly cold here, I was outside for approx 1.5 hours this morning chopping wood and chatting to a neighbour, and I’m still struggling to get warm now even with the fire roaring!
It is snowing heavily here, DD has outside sports club after school, she has gone in her thermals!
I’m after some candlesticks/candle holders - I mainly use candlelight in an evening and sticking them in wine bottles makes my living room look like a wine den 😂so I’ll be scouting online for second hand ones today.
Easy dinner of farm shop burgers for tea, with fries and beans.
Big hugs to all xx

Hello all.
First work shift done, dog walk in the freezing 🥶 cold, dailies done with help from DH, and I've had a pedicure. One wash load on airer. Will potter before next work shift.Spend less now, work less later.10 -
5 Minute Clean done in the bathroom - sink, bath and the outside of the loo. Gave it an extra couple of minutes to do the inside of the loo very thoroughly, so I'm happy with that for today. As usual, I'm amazed at what I can get done in five minutes. The rest can wait. I haven't sorted a space yet, but I think it'll be something quick like the bucket on my bedside table that holds pens, combs, a torch, scissors, letter opener etc. Proabbly full of crap at the bottom because it's been a while (ie several years) since I last tackled it.The rest of the day is about dealing with all the Christmas stuff, it being Twelfth Night tonight, and Belovéd's birthday, which got off to an excellent start with cards and going out for breakfast. Lovely.
Better is good enough.8 -
Afternoon all
In the spirit of ‘just do 5 mins’ I tackled the en suite this morning before work, probably took closer to 15 mins but now it’s all sparkly, the floor has been mopped, bin emptied and there are clean towels and bath mat… much better!
Dailies have been done, litter trays done, wm x 1 run and on the airer. DH emptied the DW, he will also do a small food shop tonight to get us back in to that routine, menu plan for next week already done, while he’s out I will tackle the other bathroom and maybe the top floor. I am determined to get to the weekend with some time to relax and enjoy it rather than with a huge list of house jobs!
Hope you are all ok, take care if going out in the snow, wrap up warm!

Afternoon again ladies,
Fayolle - I am so sorry, in my head I had asked about DD's hospital appointment, clearly I hadn't. I was thinking of you bothxx
Iona - how is your DH doing? xx
Mademoiselle - thank you for your comment yesterday - you are quite right, getting the children out of the door fed, dressed, teeth cleaned and with all the right kit is a challenge in itself! xx
We are just waiting for dinner to cook, and eggs are boiling atop the woodburner for the hardboiled eggs for DS lunchbox tomorrow. How I wish you guys were nearer, I have an absolute glut of eggs here as per. They are still laying wonderfully despite the cold temperatures.
Planning on a small glass of red wine whilst watching 22 kids and counting on catch up tonight. Lots of love to you all, stay warm and cosy and REST if your body tells you to xx9
