There’s a lot of waffle in my posts😆. Funnily enough I got a couple of horror movie themed cans in h0me b@rgains for the hampers today and they were only 49p each 😬
A bit of spending done again, the total is now at £526.51/£1000 , I also used more of the pound a day budget for Xmas. I collected the curtains today for the smaller bedroom, plus part of my other spending was for another pair I ordered for £5.24 on vinted tonight for the bigger room, they should fit, I’m not sure if they will be ok but at the price it’s worth a go.
Best friend is off on her hols this weekend which means no gym together, I did say we have kind of let it slip a bit lately and have been going more often than not once a week. She suggested going for walks for a change and see how we go. She is generally busier than me and I’m sure only joined to support me after my heart op, so I said let’s cancel and see how we go as we can rejoin easily anyway. I think I feel a bit 50/50 about this as it’s important I exercise, but I’m not as motivated going alone (especially in winter in the next town) but it does make me get out and keeps me busy 🤔 I don’t know. I have been thinking of staring a daily morning routine at home, I just need to make sure it’s a habit and not a two minute wonder. Still , £32.99 saved if I don’t rejoin, I will give it a couple of weeks and if it seems like a bad decision I’ll go back.

Yesterday was a no spend day, had a lovely friend over for lunch and a few hours catch up. I did put the heating in for a few hours as it’s just to chilly otherwise, I don’t mind wrapping up myself indoors but don’t want to freeze out guests 😆
This morning I’m finally seeing ds1, taking him for a very quick coffee before everyone meets at ds2’s flat to meet the cat. Not seen him for ages and he is busy the rest of the weekend, it’s so hard getting to see the kids sometimes, they are so busy 🥲
Financial stuff needs a look at again, I’ve got a 0% card ending next month and have just seen an offer in my n@tionwide account for 2.4% fee on 0% for 18 months which I will probably take advantage of, I’ve upped my limit to more than I need which was accepted I just need to work out what our payments owing for trips are and what the plan is to do that. It’s some scary figures though 🤣Dh showed someone round the factory yesterday who seems interested , it’s currently up for just over £40k and they are looking to pay £30k 😳 so that’s a no! They said they will get back to him if they are interested. They have not come from the useless agent but someone a customer knows, fingers crossed it works out, but we would still need to pay the agents of it does of course even though they are pretty useless.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
Way out there suggestion, but would it be worth considering selling the factory? You could get higher returns than the yearly rent if the money was invested and you'd have no stress.Mortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years
Re-mortgage Oct 2017 - 78,295 over 23 years
Re-mortgage Jan 2020 - 55,000 over 26 years @ 1.94%
Current Mortgage Outstanding Middle December 2020 - £47893.35 - a reduction of £42,652 in just over 6 years!3 -
I think they might get clobbered with capital gains tax, though 🤔?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

Hi Bargainhunter, sc is right we would have a big old CG bill unfortunately. The rent we were receiving was about a 7% yield, hopefully it will higher than that when it does rent. I emailed the agent and got a reply (a few days later…) apparently they had a viewing last week, glad i asked really as don’t think they would bother telling us! No feedback so that’s a pity.Bargainhunter30 said:Way out their suggestion, but would it be worth considering selling the factory? That being said, it’s more than doubled in value and he rent has risen to a figure we may be able to live off of careful (with a huge back up fund) so,I’d be reluctant to get rid as the kids will end up with it one day, although recently I’ve tried to get dh to consider selling as it’s such a pain but he’s having none of it 😆
Hi Queen of the hive, me too 😬 I don’t know why I didn’t get a heated throw years ago!Finances fiddled with for ages today as I was stuck in waiting for a huge parcel for ds2 who had it sent here by mistake 😆 Challenge figures are now £539.79/£1000 , it’s evened out a bit as I’ve not been out really and I did a big shop last week which seems to be lasting well.I’ve had some credit card blocking drama today with the building society as they didn’t like my transfers, all sorted now though and I guess you can’t be too careful. I’ve balance transferred to the new deal with the low rate so now I’ve three cards to juggle as the big one I was moving only needed part of the balance transferring and it had varying end dates. I’ve also opened a n@tionwide regular saver at 6.5% for a year which will have the max of £200pm in, this will be the spending money for the family trip next September. The new bedroom is now finished and it looks pretty good if I do say so 😬The curtains I got with the n3xt voucher for £21 in the sale are really nice and look quite high end, I’ve just painted everything white and shuffled around stuff we already have, except one little plant stand I got at the boot sale the other day for £6 (from the challenge money - I couldn’t resist!) two rooms down and one large room left where all the other stuff has accumulated to, this one will be the hardest by far as I can’t seem to get the boys to take the rest of their stuff, ds1 has a flooding underground carpark so can’t use his outside cupboard and ds2 has an unboarded loft (until dh shows him how to do it 🤣) honestly I need to gee them up a bit!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
You need to do what my parents did and just pitch up at their houses with it all one day - thinking I would be responsible for it quickly made me decide what I really, really wanted to keep 😳!Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

P.S. How deep is the flooding 😱? Does/could the cupboard have shelves?Mortgage start: £65,495 (March 2016)

It’s Karma Sc, my dad still has boxes of my stuff in his shed 🤣
I’ve never seen this cupboard, he didn’t get a key on completion so was about to get new locks fitted but the water board broke in recently due to a leak, I’m hoping it’s temporary 🙄

Well my £2.50 vinted curtains arrived yesterday and look like they will be perfect, I’ve stuck the in the machine so they will need a lot of steaming once they are dry as they are now a mess 😆
Popped to £1 land yesterday to get another of the of the tiny pots of gloss, as it’s cheap and thin it goes on well and dried quickly (plus it’s only £3). They had how we run out as they are closing down 😳 luckily there is another branch nearby, but i ended up spending £20.05 on bits and bobs, a cushion for the vintage rocking chair ds2 left behind now in the new bedroom, a pack of three floating shelves, 4 packs of candle holders for the thin battery candles in bought ages ago, 2 plug timers, a new phone case (hard to find as phone is old now 😆), paint brushes, cat toys for Xmas, long lighter for candles, 2 x cushion covers for bedroom, plus a few more bits, most was 50% off. Some things I didn’t need but it’s nice to have a few new bits to dress the new room.
After than I headed to sainsbugs and spent £27.26 on food and a plant, so new total is £587.10 / £1000. I’m off out with dd today so will buy us coffee and also pick up a few salad bits in m@rks, so I’ll be a little over on the challenge budget again!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁5
