😆 He has sc!Well there is something to report on dh’s work front finally! he was told that his meeting to discuss the move would take place when he got back from holiday at a date to be arranged, this seems to have been replaced with a letter he has received today stating his new offer which is 2k towards the travel (nowhere near enough) it’s the same as at least one of the other’s offers, another has been offered I believe way over double that as he’s further away and the best bit of all, drum roll……..- a 2k pay cut 😱 as he is no longer the manager (his choice last year to suggest my brother who had little experience - long story) so the role has changed even though he’s the only one that came make all of the products (others can so some parts) and use half the machines 😂As a gesture of good will they will let him continue for three months while they get ready to move and if he doesn’t move with them will pay a whole one months salary 😳
So I can’t get an appointment at citizens advice for over a month, one of the others is ahead in this process as the other three employees had their meetings in Feb, for some reason they refused to have one with dh - well basically ever! 😡 anyway, he is a close friend and won’t mind us having a read through of the advice and steps to take etc. incase there’s info that would be useful there. He’s been there 37 years, I’m so angry with how he’s been treated and realistically our situation is different as he’s their landlord too, so they could easily stop paying the rent during the last few months.Dh has not walked out although I strongly suggested it earlier 😂 he will be taking his time, I couldn’t, I’m far to cross even if it costs us loads Grrrr!!!I probably shouldn’t post all this on here really but hey ho, chances of the evil bosses are seeing it are slim I would think so I’m sharing! Oh and if they did see it they can stick it you know where 🤣MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
I would give ACAS a call on Monday 0300 1231100. They are a large employment rights charity. All advice is free and I know a few people who have got quick, good advice from them. Good luck. At least it might be over in four months and you might be able to move onto an easier life. I believe everything happens for a reason, maybe this is to slow him down, force him to retire xxMortgage start date Nov 2014 - £90,545 over 25 years

Is the other job on offer you mentioned a while back? With a friend. Sounds like a nice option. I would assume relocation would trigger redundancy process but if they’re not playing ball then he could just leave them sooner, without his skills.

I would second the ACAS suggestion, also try to get him to stick it out for a bit if he can. If he resigns then he has no rights, he may be entitled to more if they are technically making him redundant.

Thanks guys and to bargain hunter for the link 😊
He’s working today as there’s lots of private work he’s still doing and hopefully passing onto someone nearby who will take over and he can drop in on occasionally and help in the near future. He’s had a couple of other job offers over the last few months.
Nothing doing with renting the factory yet which is a pain 😩 these things take time though.Today I’m doing more washing while the weather is good, plus starting to look at the finances again, assuming we will still get the last three months rent and wage, I should make a plan- whether it’s stuck to is another matter!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁4 -
Well nothing much got done yesterday as dd rang and asked what local pubs do nice houmous and bread locally , so she came here and ate my freshly cooked flatbreads 😆 lovely to catch up with them though and we are going to go to the village pub today where we used to live years ago and sit in the garden, hopefully dh will come home early from work and come too.No finances done still as I went to bed with it all to look at last night and fell asleep about 8pm! So about to make a coffee and start now 😬MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

I’ve finally looked at the finances for the next few months, I’m assuming (it might be a big assumption 😆) that they will stick to their word and dh will have a job for the next three months and they will also pay the rent. IF that’s so then this is what I think we will do:
Cancel our two week cruise in September! It’s one we both want to do but they have emailed to say they are dropping a port off (Stockholm) and having just been away for two weeks one of which with family, together with the timing of it - mid September and the fact it will be going on the 0% cc, I’m happy to cancel and save the money for the moment. I will of course need to check with my parents first but I’ve a feeling they also don’t want to go, I could be wrong but I’m not sure they enjoyed the one we just went on and my Aunt dropped a hint 😆
So without an extra £3500k to go on the cc it will help us try and pay them down with the money coming in over the next three months, we have no interest in renting the factory so soon we will have half the money coming in.Currently we owe £5060 on the 0% cc with the deal ending Nov. and have a new 0% cc with £1171 currently on it and another £688 about to go on it to pay the balance of my girls mini cruise (I have money to pay the difference as it’s actually £922 ) so a total of £1860 and a grand total of: £6920If dh gets paid and we can go frugal and stick to budget and use everything to pay this lot down , in theory we should be able to clear it in the three months leaving us with a surplus of £0.28pm per month 😆 So that’s the plan! It leaves me with no spending money for my August girls trip and no money to go to York next week for the bank holiday weekend, those are both issues I need to work out! I’m thinking vinted for the girls trip, get lots listed and next weeks York trip I’m not quite sure yet 😬Worst case scenario we don’t manage it, but the credit card with the smaller amount outstanding is 0% until 2026 anyway so it’s not the end of the world, I just feel it would be nice to have no debt when our income drops a lot soon.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7 -
Urgh the direct debit has just been put up again for gas and electric, buy another £30 😩 sky went up by £20 the month after I fixed for 18 months - general prices rises apparently, the council tax went up £10 and water has gone up £20 which is a fixed amount. Makes me even more irritated that dh had a pay cut five years ago, no rise since and they want to give him another cut if he was to move location!I think when the last two move out from home things might change a little, but I’m not sure how much? Electric must go down as they have a couple of tanks with geckos in and a fish tank, the sky I don’t want to trim and we will let ds 2 use sky go in his new place as he won’t probably be able to afford it, n@tflix is also part of that package, I may well try a water meter too perhaps.I have been trying to eat better this week, made some coleslaw and flatbreads at home so far which are both things I usually buy, weight loss is just not happening, weirdly I only put one pound on while on holiday which is a lot less than I would expect, it’s like my body has decided to stubbornly stay at at a stone and a half over what I want 😆 for the moment it about eating nice fresh food with minimal rubbish and chemicals rather than losing weight, one step at a time!Ds2 and girlfriend are coming over for dinner tonight, very happy about that as I don’t see them much as they are always going places 🥲 dinner of burgers and salad with jersey royal potato salad which I’ll make from some on offer potatoes in Lidl yesterday. Could do with buying some ice lollies really for dessert.MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁7

We had a lovely evening with ds1 and girlfriend, I popped to @ldi (again!) to get their new halloumi slices which they sold out of and ended up spending £50 on food 😱 and I forgot the burger buns and had to buy 2 packs for over £5 at the corner shop 😩 They brought us some Kendal mint cake back from the lake distinct, I had heard of it but knew nothing about it, it wasn’t what I excepted at all!Today I’m popping to the shops with best friend, then back early for an appointment with the cardiologist I saw last year, I think usually you get a yearly check up on the nhs, nothings been mentioned so I booked a private appointment with the guy I saw originally, it’s £200 so not too bad and it was only booked this week. Aside from the girls trip spending money that’s the last big spending for a while hopefully! I cashed out £8.78 today from tcb and also sold an item on vinted for £3 so that’s going in the pot.Todays planned purchases while out from my personal spends are a new insulated water bottle from £1land if they still do them, a large thermos from arg@s if I get time and hopefully a couple of cheap lunch boxes. Going to York over a bank holiday weekend is going to be a long old trip 😆 I’m not buying ANY food and drink on the way! We always take some stuff but still wander in and buy something, not this time!

Oh dear, more unplanned spending 😩 the cardiologist said it would be a good idea to have another echocardiogram this much farther on to make sure that it’s all grown back correctly (well that’s not what he said but I can’t remember exactly 😆) so back next week for a scan and another appointment to discuss afterwards , scan £535 😱 appointment - today and next week I think £200 a go 😒 however if all good he said I don’t have to keep coming back, I can if I want a bit of reassurance every now and then but if there’s no symptoms I don’t have to, so i guess that’s good!So now my newly worked out pay off the debts before dhs job is gone plan is ruined 🤣 perhaps I should work out the 0% debt over the remaining period it’s interest free, would give us a bit more breathing space. In happier news, I bought both dh and I some lunchboxes for car journeys to York, the perfect ones I wanted both style and price wise that I could find happened to be for kids, so I have a lilo and stitch bento box and he has a Spider-Man one, I’m not sure he likes it though, no idea why 😆 also purchased some reusable sandwich bags for 25p per pack in £1land and got a smaller thermos than planned as i think one litre looks big enough. Plenty of spending done today!MFW 67 - Finally mortgage free! 💙😁8
