I'm also pleased the temps have dropped (17° here earlier 😀) and am back to wearing a thin jumper today, lol 😆 Glad the Revitive foot massager is proving helpful, Helen 🙂
Thanks for your votes of approval on our kitchen and little laundry space, Sugarbaby, Maman and Chanie 😊
I'm probably not going to go with tiles as the ones I have already and planned using are a bit thick (although fab, especially the silver ones!)...
We have quite a few left (in four colours) from our last-but-one house in Wiltshire where we used them behind our range and butler sink, but they don't really lend themselves to being used in smaller applications due to the intricacies of the shape 🙄
In other locations here we've just used a piece of tempered glass above the sink or basin (and the range cooker) to protect the surface but like Maman said, in this instance I think leaving it bare is better suited to the character of the old mill 😉
On the fabbing front last night I picked up a couple of cool linen dresses in TK Maxx that are perfect for the hot weather (we no longer have, lol!)...I can see those being returned 🙁5 -

I need to join you on the weight loss.
I did finally got around to using my new rebounder as it is not so hot. I did 15 mins which I thought was quite good considering how little exercise I have done in recent years. I haven't even been out walking the past few days. I know I will feel it in my muscles tomorrow, I can already feel it.2025 GOALS

I also need to lose some weight! Back in 2014 I lost about two stones on the 5:2 diet but people said I looked too skinny 🙄 Most of that has gradually crept back on and I'd now like to lose just 1.5 stones perhaps. I think living rurally - whilst I get plenty of exercise what with walking and gardening (plus helping DH with the DIY/lifting and shifting stuff!) - I tend to hide myself in baggy jumpers etc so don't notice the weight creeping up. I haven't weighed myself in ages so don't know how bad it actually is - other than getting an idea from which clothes are tight now, lol 😆

Hello Ladies,
I went to Blackfriars Settlement on Wednesday for the mental health and wellbeing discussion group. Of course there was some discussion about the cost of living crisis. I was one of only 2 in the group who had received their £326 payment.
I reminded everyone that the latest they would receive this cost of living payment from the DWP would be 31st July and that put those still waiting, mind's to rest.
I was really surprised to be verbally attacked by one of the men in the group, when I had not done anything to him. I was sharing some information with the group about how our local councils are now able to offer shopping vouchers from the cost of living support funds they have at their disposable, to those in hardship. Before I had finished explaining, this man started to talk over me. I stopped talking to defuse the situation. One of the women in the group had a go at this man, pointing out that our group agreement states clearly that we should not talk over a member of the group. To my astonishment, this man raised his voice to verbally attack me. I ignored him and let Adonis, (real name) our facilitator handle the situation. He stepped in pretty quickly and pointed out to the man, that his behaviour was not acceptable. Adonis then asked me if I wanted to finish what I was saying, but I declined, saying that it would be best if the man had his say. He then gave us a long and rambling account of how he lives a different life to other people on benefit and how he now has 2 wardrobes full of clothes and lots of shoes in the council house he lives in with his parents. He did not share any information that would be of use to anybody else in the group, but sometimes he just goes off at a tangent. The disagreement blew over so fast, thank goodness and peace and harmony was restored to the group.
In the evening yesterday, I went to see the play Chasing Hares at The Young Vic. I received a free ticket from The Young Vic which was worth £50. There were 5 other members of Neighbourhood Voices watching the play, but only 2 were seated near to me, in the row in front of my row of seats. I really enjoyed this play, for me it was a 8.5/10.
Today, I went to Blackfriars Settlement to meet up with the other participants of the Windrush Project that I had taken part in. It turns out that 2 employees from the firm of Architects that will now be funding the project so it can become a touring exhibition, wanted to meet us all. It was a very productive meeting. It turned out that Leila, who works at Blackfriars Settlement, was the same Leila who is taking part in Neighbourhood Voices. We were both surprised to see each other. I had a lovely catch up with Will about writing my 1st play and the fact that once my play is written, I would like to see it on a stage in the near future. I am prepared to ask any of the professional contacts to help me to make my goal come true.
The meeting was held in the garden area, as the weather was so much cooler.

Hello Ladies,
I met my beautiful Great-granddaughter for the first time today.

@sugarbaby125 your DGGD looks adorable, congratulations to you all.
DS room has been carpeted and his new bed has been ordered, so he’s nearly sorted. The plan for today is a major cleaning and packing blitz before we go on holiday, to Spain. I’m normally totally organised with holiday prep, but haven’t even started packing yet….but I’m not going to stress - if lockdown has taught me anything, it’s that I can cope with much less stuff than I think. We are only away for a week, so as long as we have the basics, we will be fine.5 -
Congratulations Sugarbaby on the safe arrive of your beautiful Great Granddaughter. And of course the weight loss
