Hello Ladies,
Yet again, I have not lost any weight this week. I just have to keep going. This was never going to be a short weight loss journey for me.
Yesterday I went to the Matinee Idols event from 12pm to 2.15pm at the Waterloo Action Centre, then I went over to the Old Vic theatre to watch the play Jitney.
I had a good time socialising with some of the women at the event, which was a question and answer session with the director of Jitney Tinuke Craig and the associate director Prime Issac. These 2 young black women were just so engaging and informative. They brought a lot of humour into the room as they interacted with our group making the whole event so much fun. They were both so open and honest when they were answering the questions.
We were once again provided with 2 flavours of hot soup with bread. We also had a selection of crisps, popcorn, 2 types of healthy bars and some small chocolate bars. There was white and red wine on offer as well as hot beverages.
All of the sitting around, left me in a lot of pain with my arthritis, but it was all worth it, as the play exceeded my high expectations. I was totally captivated by all of the characters and how they interacted with each other in their workplace in the drama.
I had a 1 to 1 zoom meeting to discuss my play with one of the dramaturgs from The Young Vic this morning. It has really helped me to understand how to get the idea for my play written it such a way, that it will transform my good idea into a good play. I was feeling so unsure of my 1st attempt at writing a play, so I took the initiative and asked for help. I did not want to write the whole play only to find that most of what I had written would need to be rewritten or discarded. Of course she is so knowledgeable and she took time out of her very busy working day to discuss what I had written so far and why I felt I had taken the wrong path with my play.

That all sounds very positive with regards to your play, Sugarbaby 😊 It's really never too late to chase your dreams - the writer of love stories we sold our last house to (Josie Silver) was a relatively late starter and has now achieved huge success. I'm still hoping to pick my own writing up at some point, but am trying to juggle way too much stuff at the moment 🙄
Wednesday, that's a pain about your kitchen - hope you get your new flooring laid soon! Did you manage to find an English lavender for placing by your door? Ours (from Been & Queued) are looking lovely - there are two, not by our door but at the top of steps leading into our front garden which is a sunny, south-facing spot 🌞
Fabbing of the house variety has been slow but sure here - the freshly battened, boarded and skimmed chimney breast in the kitchen has dried and is just waiting for me (a huge ditherer!) to make a decision on the wallpaper 🙄
I've received several samples through the post and have a favourite, but DH hasn't seen it yet so will await his input!
We rescheduled help with fitting the structural beams for this evening but now the plumber friend has gone awol again, not responding to texts although it was his suggestion he come tonight. We do have an alternative lined up, so hopefully it won't be too much longer...
At TK Maxx the other evening DH chose a small rug for placing in front of the range cooker...it's a jolly, colourful addition to the space and a great choice for only £30!
The half-price decorative trays I ordered arrived and I'm delighted with them 😀 Here's the smaller one in the guest room...

Hello Ladies,
Phoebe, I have a lot of work to do to transform what I had already written into the start of a good play, but I got the support I needed to see where I was going wrong. It is never too late to dream big unless of course we have left our earthly bodies.
I finally finish typing up my notes from the 2 Masterclasses in June and the Saturday session with Ola at the end of June. I suddenly realised today, that I was in danger of falling behind. I find it much easier to reference something in my notes when I have word processed my notes and printed out the documents, rather than trying to read my hand written notes, which are sometimes a bit scribbled, because I have to write as I am listening.

Thanks Wednesday, it's very kind of you to say so 😊 It's a real labour of love and I admit to being more than a little obsessive, lol! If you've seen the 'befores' on my instagram, you'll know you've nothing to worry about on that score...this is literally the worst house we've ever bought and we've history for picking some absolute mingers 😆😆😆5

Good Morning lovely ladies.Hope you are all well and keeping up the fabbing.Wednesday....what a nuisance about your kitchen floor. Sadly these nasty unexpected surprises are all too common. They rarely show up on surveys, it's only when you start your renovations that these issues present themselves. Hopefully what with the dehumidifier and the hot weather the floor will dry out soon and you can get cracking. At least it's not the dead of winter, I always think these things are worse in winter.Anyway......good news. My reserve buyers have now accepted an offer on their property so hopefully we can fire ahead now. 🤞🤞
I had a fab birthday this week. 71😱😂🤣. How did that happen. Lol. My family took me to my favourite restaurant and I was spoilt rotten. A little too much prosecco and Pimms but hey that's what birthdays are for.I am hosting my grandsons 4th birthday here tomorrow (my garden is more toddler and child friendly). I never thought I would be doing raucous childrens parties again. Lol. Son and DIL are doing the bbq and family will pitch in so hopefully I should cope ok. A bit daunting though, I'll be on my knees on Sunday. Still at least the weather looks set fair. Wish me luck.6 -
@liberty_lily your flowers always make me feel happy and you’ve inspired me to grow some myself. I did grow some flowers last summer, but couldn’t this year, as we’ve had scaffolding up.
@helensbiggestfan I can’t believe your GDS is going to be 4. Wishing him a happy birthday. I remember when your DIL was expecting him. I guess he’ll be starting school in September then, how exciting for you all.@sugarbaby125 it sounds like you are making good progress with your play.
we had carpets fitted in a couple of rooms yesterday, so me and OH can finally move into our new room. We still have lots more decorating and organising to do, but it feels like we are making progress.5 -
Thanks Chanie 🙂
Great news about your new buyers, Helen!!! Glad you had a lovely birthday and good luck with hosting your grandson's party...hope he has a very happy birthday too 😃
Wednesday, I meant to say it's very early days with your new house fabbing - we've been in ours almost 4.5 years so are bound to be further ahead 😉 You are just beginning to stamp your personality on your lovely new seaside home 🙂
